To start on Disney+ then transfer into the movies. At our D&D session I brought up the possibility of doing that with Fantastic Four. I don't know why it is, but to me it seems that FF would benefit from a long form tv than short form movie. FF seems to be more about the connections between the characters than anything else. Maybe a lower toned vibe would work better. Who knows.
One of the guys (The Bard of the group if that helps you determine anything) would like to see a Cinematic Level Quality X-men show (actors/actresses, VFX, writers, etc) start off then slowly introduce them in the MCU. Not just easter eggs or name dropping, but an actual integral inclusion. I tried to say how hard that would be with showrunning, prep and schedules, but I got to admit if they can come up with a reason for why the X-men have been absent and present it over say an 8 episode arc I wouldn't be opposed to it. The only thing I ask is to keep Ike Perlmutter as far away from it as possible.

Currently in the game, I have the group working for a Vampire and a Necromancer who they think are trying to get rid of the Undead in the kingdom.

I could see it working either way, but I have to believe Disney/Marvel would want to make a big splash with these characters right off the bat. They'd generate more buzz (and $) in a film than on tv.
Love the details about the D&D campaign, by the way.

I will wait for DC plus.

It just seems unlikely to me that Disney would choose to monetize that particular IP in that way.

According to that Disney executive, the planned Marvel shows for Disney+ would be developed under Marvel Studios. So that means that asshole Perlmutter wouldn't have a say.
Which means there would more effort put into an X-Men tv series then there was for Inhumans.

There is only one thing to do when you find that a fire wall has been put in place between the audience and Perlmutter.
First things first. You have to sing and dance Happy Happy Joy Joy style... Followed by 3 days of Numfar doing the Dance of Joy

Not super interested.
The X-Men movies could have been better as a unit, but they've been done. To this day, 7 years after the fact, I've had difficulty poking around Gotham because it came so soon after The Dark Knight trilogy. Love the X-Men or hate them, I'm X-Manned out. They're not even finished their own arc in their own universe.
It's too soon.
If it were any other property besides the X-Men, I might put my foot down and say enough is enough. I'm already almost at this point with Disney; it's just so fascinatingly and nakedly greedy a power play that I can't deal. A lot of people have grown fat off Disney, which is wonderful, but other writers and directors need food in their mouths too.
Food for thought, I found this in the IMDb trivia section for Logan Lucky:
The film was distributed by cutting out studios, in order to have creative control and make money directly from the film itself. Accordingly, for this atypical distribution, Steven Soderbergh raised the budget by selling off foreign distribution rights, and then sold everything except the movie showing up in a movie theater in order to pay for advertising and prints of the movie (for example, selling post-theatrical rights to the likes of HBO, Netflix, Video-On-Demand, television, and airplanes). By following these two steps, Soderbergh was able to sidestep a Hollywood studio, and had creative control the entire time (for instance, the trailers that dropped earlier this summer were by his design, as was the poster and the entire marketing plan). Also, according to Soderbergh, under this set-up, the box-office bar for success is lower. With nearly everything prepaid, and no hefty distributor fees coming off the top, even a modest fifteen million dollar opening would be a win.

I actually think the X-Men would be better as a series. There's too many of them and too many storylines to tackle. Unlike the Avengers, the most of the X-men members probably aren't big enough to warrant their standalone movies, but if we just stick to ensemble movies for the X-men they may not get the proper development for each of the characters.

Nah I wouldn't want that. I'd want them to go big. If it's a series they'll tone it down.
I want a big budget X-Men set in the Savage Land with Dinosaurs and Mr. Sinister as the villain. Just like the 90's cartoon.

I love that Game of Thrones has become the measuring stick or brass ring people use to illustrate the quality they want from production. And they should that show looks like new movie every weekend. I've been saying it for years. (well ever since GoT has been on the air) that I want The Dark Tower Cycle made for HBO with the same production company/studio/vfx as GoT. The Original plan was 3 movies and 2 seasons for the Dark Tower. After it failed at box office (revenue almost matched it's production cost) They wanted to change the TV seasons into a soft reboot. Here's to hoping they scrape everything that's associated with the movie. God did that movie suck compared to the book. Sorry for the little rant, I'm bored been waiting in my car for like an hour or so.

Did they really think they could cram something like the DT into a single movie like that? They definitely needed to do a series.
