Enjoy. Did you enjoy that? I hope you did. Especially you, goz. Now some of you may be wondering how a Christian like me could entertain the possibility of stuff like this. I'll be happy to explain if necessary. The fellow wearing the headband is Colonel Billie Faye Woodard (retired). Not Woodward as this video calls him. No second "w." I don't know if he's listed on the American Loons website but if he is I'm sure that one of the board's resident scumbags will be kind enough to provide a link. I started to watch the interview with him once but it's rather long and I only watched a little of it. After that someone on YouTube suggested I check out the song "Ventura Highway" by America and some time later I did just that. Then a week or more after that I started this thread. I find it fascinating, and now I'm wondering about any possible hidden meanings in "Tin Man," "Horse With No Name," "Sister Golden Hair," and "You Can Do Magic."

Pretty good song. I actually live in Ventura, so the song is quite relatable:

I know that if were going to infiltrate Venus and disguise myself as a Venusian, and I knew my disguise slipped from time to time, then the first thing I'd do would be to get a job that regularly put me in front of crowds numbering in the tens of thousands where they're all staring intently at me for hours on end.
Because I mean, how could that possibly go wrong? It's such a safe and sensible thing to do!

I suspect "alligator lizards in the air" simply refers to the amount of popular fiction in the media.
At least that's what my boss, Lizardlee MacLizardson, told me to say.
I also suspect the ancient Greek gods were more like modern fictional superheroes than objects of "religion" or dispensers of information practical in everyday life.

I would agree that by the time of Pericles and Socrates the gods had become like fictional superheroes, but before that...…..who knows?

I didn't bother to watch it.
I never watch the crapola you or Molar post and rarely read what she/he posts!
I have standards.
I still talk to you because we go way back and you are amusing in an ' idiot savant' kind of way!

You might learn something. It's kind of like flat earth.....with a twist.

Incidentally, I don't talk to Arlon because there's no point given the endless parade of idiocy and lies that he spews... but I don't have him on ignore. And it still amuses me no end that he's so upset by my avatar. It's a wonderful demonstration of his lack of comprehension of irony.

In some/most cases irony has humour, and in some it points out something that is just pathetic. Sometimes the two are combined.

They were singing about clouds.

They were singing about clouds. I considered that. Clouds shaped like alligators. It's possible. I also considered that hallucinogens might have been a factor, as it is not uncommon for people in the music business to experiment with them, although in fairness there are some exceptions (KISS, Sonny & Cher).

They were singing about clouds. Yeah, maybe. I think the song is about things "typical" of Ventura Highway. And I think the clouds over Ventura Highway are the same as clouds almost anywhere. I doubt they "usually" have alligator lizard shapes.
