Can you imagine an NFL team stating- 'Eh, we're going to make our dimensions and playing field 50 yards total'. Can you imagine if an NHL team stated- 'Eh, on our team - we have 20 feet behind the goalie net of open ice...... Can you imagine if an NBA team stated, 'Eh, for our home court - the 3 pt line is only 15 feet away from the basket' WTF?

In case you're not aware, not all hockey arenas are the same dimensions.

In case you're not aware, not all hockey arenas are the same dimensions. I don't follow hockey closely anymore - I just bitch about it from afar........ i.e. the 1 point for an overtime loss and the 20 teams in one division.......... I'm kind of out of the loop - but take liberties just pissing and moaning - kind of like throwing darts at a board because I don't like the sport anymore. I get this is a reflection upon myself - but so be it. So one hockey arena is 1 mile long and the next can be 1 1/2 miles long? Kind of like soccer? And they still have the nerve to call 'Icing' and 'Offsides'? SMH (was told this was the hip way from today's Instagramers to state you're disgusted with something)

Basic dimensions are the same. 90 feet between bases 60 and 6 inches from pitching rubber (heh heh, I said rubber) to home. Outfield dimensions didn’t matter until the 20’s because hardly anyone could hit one out. Why can some teams play inside and some have to play outside?

Cookie cutter stadiums were around long enough for us want to demolish them into oblivion.
Golf is never the same twice. 30 unique parks for outfield walls & foul territory is a positive.

Google picture of the old Sulphur Dell, the ballpark of the Nashville Volunteers in the old Southern Association. The entire outfield had a steep bank. Ridiculous.

I love it. It was crazier in the 1950s with the Polo Grounds, the old Yankee Stadium, and a few others. I would think some of it has to do with where they located the stadium. Fenway couldn't extend any farther. The wall is compensation.
I mentioned this before, but I wish baseball had developed with each home team deciding whether the bases would be run counterclockwise or clockwise. Left-handers shouldn't have a built-in advantage in every single game.
I suppose there's no way to add ground rules to the NBA (adjustable rim height?). But I've never understood why a ball that goes over the backboard is automatically out of play, or why a ball jammed between the backboard and rim isn't up for grabs.

At most, the NBA might have slight rim differentials between arenas. It's probably more a psychological thing than a physical/competitive handicap
