Finally watched Annihilation this weekend and was really good. Got me thinking that the 2010's have been a great decade for solid, original and remade sci-fi. And im specifically referring to hard sci-fi and not sci-fi fantasy-action so no comic book movies like Guardians of the Galaxy or Star Wars.
1) Interstellar 10/10 2) Arrival 10/10 3) Edge of Tomorrow 9/10
But there are many honourable mentions. Ex Machina, Annihilation, Midnight Special, Gravity, Snowpiercer, Predestination, Blade Runner 2049, Soure Code, Elysium, The Martian.

Hell, there is not much beyond three movies worth mentioning so ill just list all Sci-Fi movies worth mentioning in the current decade... 1)Source Code (2011) - 8/10 (my #1 time-travel variation movie straight up) 2)Tron Legacy (2010) - 7.5-8/10 (this is pretty much my #1 PG rated movie (or at least the best PG rated movie in along time as damn near all of the movies worth mentioning in general are either PG-13 or R, pretty much)) 3)Ex Machina (2014-2015) - 7-7.5/10 (this was a 7/10 on my first two viewings but on my 3rd one not long ago (Sep 12th 2018) it went up to a 7-7.5/10 which makes it not much outside of my Top 101 movies) 4)Robot & Frank (2012) 5)Edge of Tomorrow (2014) - 7/10 6)Annihilation (2018) - 6-6.5/10 -)In Time (2011) -)Terminator Genisys (2015)
NOTE: there is more I like but everything above is within my Top 234 movies at the minimum, with the 7's and higher being within my Top 187 movies.
p.s. Annihilation just recently (on Jan 3rd 2019) went up from a 6/10 to a 6-6.5/10 on a re-watch (my 2nd viewing of it total).

Agree with rewatching Ex machina. I thought it was okay on first watch but on repeat viewings it just gets better and better.

Top 3 (including one tie):
Snowpiercer (one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a long time)
Annihilation (cool premise that took the higher road of being more intelligent than the 'monster movie' it could have devolved into)
Arrival (loved it, save some elements of the ending) & Ex Machina (awesome old school character-driven sci fi...like a good episode of the "Twilight Zone." These two tie for the bronze
3 Honorable mentions:
Interstellar (Ambitious as hell, very well cast, coolest robot sidekicks I've seen in a movie in years)
The Martian (Ridley Scott doesn't disappoint with the visuals...and there is some really unexpected humor I really liked)
TRON: Legacy (glad to see I'm not the only one who really enjoyed this movie!)
--
All in all, a pretty good time to be a sci-fi fan. Even some of the safer sci-fis (Passengers, Life, Black Mirror) stand out a bit. Only reason I didn't include Gravity (which I liked quite a bit) was that it felt less like sci-fi to me and more of a character study that happened to take place in space. I like seeing those lines getting blurred. Pound for pound, better than a lot of the sci-fi we were getting in the 90s and 2000s.

IMO...
Arrival Blade Runner 2049 Annihilation/Ex Machina (Tie)
4 movies, 2 directors
(I'm counting Inception as last decade otherwise that would be in 1st, also I'm counting Mad Max: Fury Road as strictly an action movie or that would be in there too)
