. . .and unlike what your lying ass said, is STILL being studied.
There you go, lying again. You have no morals or ethics to speak of, do you?

Google the definition of 'parable'. Well I know what the definition of a parable is, and I’m well aware that Jesus specifically indicates whenever he is using a parable. What I’m not aware of is any church or church tradition that has ever associated the creation story of Genesis as a parable. So if you choose to interpret it as one, then you’d have to justify that interpretation (which frankly goes against Christian tradition). Justify my interpretation to people who don't understand the Bible in the first place? That would be an exercise in futility.

I know we joke about the 'Dunning Kruger Effect' and use it as an insult, however it is a real phenomenon and a few posters on here really suffer from it. Heeeey is one. Even the most charitable poster on here would say that what she posts is ludicrously stupid and inaccurate, she never learns, is wilfully ignorant and anti-intellectual and seemingly proud of it, thinking that ONLY SHE knows the 'truth'. ( From this category of poster who might comment or assess her posts, I exclude Erjenious and Planet Arlon because, whist they are entitled to their opinions and right to express them, they, essentially are in the same Dunning Kruger category) Here is another interesting article on the effect with a slightly different twist... arstechnica.com/science/2016/11/revisiting-why-incompetents-think-theyre-awesome/Don't think for one minute that I take the insults of dumbasses who actually believe we are nothing but flesh and blood robots whose consciousness evaporates likes steam at death, seriously. ...luckily that is neither Faustus nor I, so perhaps you will believe us when we tell you that you are incorrect and ill-educated on this subject and you would do better to shut up about it instead of making yourself look like ( as others have suggested) 'the village idiot'.

It would be an exercise in futility regardless because you wouldn’t be capable of actually justifying it, which is actually my point (even if we had reason to believe that you actually understood the Bible at all).

I like threads like this for two reasons. 1) This is the Religion, Faith, and Spirituality board, and it's relevant for people like myself who are genuinely interested in it; a lot more relevant than threads about what restroom transgenders should use or the cultural appropriation of white people wearing dreadlocks, and other silly nonsense. 2) When a thread like this goes up, every materialistic creep on the board has to come in with some snark. It's funny to watch. Some of them are just sounding off, possibly because they feel there is an effort to convert them, but others seem to take it like a responsibility. An on-topic thread goes up, and they rush in like firefighters on their way to a burning apartment building. It’s also funny because it demonstrates the futility and inconsistency of Christian faith, and how there is no consensus on how to interpret anything in scripture. Do you agree with Heeeyyy that the entire creation story is just allegory (or a parable as she put it) and not a literal event? No consensus? Would you prefer that Christianity be more like Communism? Come to think of it, there were cases of Communism failing to reach a consensus too. To answer your question, I used to think Genesis was allegory in the sense that Adam and Eve and their children were collectives instead of individuals. Now I'm not so sure.

My opinion is that it's scriptural validation of a conclusion I came to some years ago and have talked about several times on this august board; that 3D reality is a simulation of a greater reality. The natives in your country (to the best of my knowledge) never stopped believing this, except for perhaps the ones who have been assimilated into the Western-type materialist culture.

I did say that there is a consensus that consciousness is centered in the brain, which is just a fact. I never said they stopped studying it, which is just another one of your idiotic, ignorant lies.

So your education on this subject never advanced into the AD era. Got it. Are you not aware that the heart has its own memory, kind of like a brain? Not just the heart--the digestive system, too. I wouldn't be surprised if there are memory and other cognitive systems distributed throughout the entire body. In fact, I would bet on it. But the brain, by far, is where the main action is.
