Finally watched the trailer, it was pretty good. It doesn't excite me like back when I saw the trailers for the Raimi movies but that's probably not likely happen anymore.
The first half was a bit mediocre but it picked up in the second half.
Him going to Europe puts a different spin on it. There's been enough movies set in New York now that they can try something different.
I have no idea what's going on with the elemental villains but I'm guessing they're something Mysterio created and now he's pretending to stop them so he can play the hero.
DC Fan - "So basically he's just a ripoff of Syndrome from The Incredibles?"
Yeah...he could be.

But I think Hydroman and Sandman will actually be illusions by Mysterio. Spared no expense?

So how much is this going to disgrace itself to into the spiderverse

I'm not sure how it's actually going to play out but it's going to be ridiculous if Spider-Man shows up in every city Peter is visiting and his friends don't figure it out. It was dumb enough in Homecoming. "Hey Peter, where have you been all day on our class trip to Washington? Also, did you see Spider-Man save us today?" I'm pretty sure his secret identity won't last long. I mean, both his bestfriend and aunt already know his secret within the first movie. It won't be long before he ditches it completely same way the rest of the MCU ditched their secret identities. It's just not feasible in this day and age.

So how much is this going to disgrace itself to into the spiderverse But Sony is behind this, you know those guys, the recent saviors of the CBM genre who gave us the oh-so-fun Venom. But wait, Marvel Studios produced it. Then again, they didn't get paid so, realistically, how much could they have done? What? Who shot who? Pascal --- Feige --- Love --- Hate --- Does not compute. Desisions, desicions...

Hopefully the CGI looks a lot better in the final cut of the film.

Hopefully the CGI looks a lot better in the final cut of the film. I honestly wish they'd replace all cgi in future movies with this...

Looks as low stakes as Homecoming was. I don't know if you meant this as a good thing or bad thing. In my mind it's a good thing. If they keep ratcheting up the stakes then it will get real ridiculous real quick. Especially with Spider-Man. They need to keep the threats on the smaller side, at most cities are threatened or even part of a city. We don't need Spider-man in a solo film saving the US/Canada or the planet. A smaller movie like this one will act as a balm for the anxiety filled, no holds barred, extravaganza that will be End Game. I like them reigning the larger than life threats in. Hopefully, the story will have long acting consequences though. I hope this is a trend. Black Widow can be a small movie. Even small movies can effect the course of the MCU. Ant-Man and the Wasp was small in scope and narrative, but gave the MCU Quantum Tunneling Machine. I am hoping for something similar with Black Widow. The story maybe small, but it will have a impact. Black Panther 2 doesn't really lend it's self to small intimate story, but hopefully the threat and story is held inside Wakanda. I'd like to see more daily life there. Doctor Strange 2 could go either way. His power set makes him god-like and deal with god-like people, but the story could still be small. Guardians 3 and The Eternals accommodates a bigger story. Chris Pratt has one more film left on his contract. I don't see Marvel Studios keeping Chris on the bench for long. Marvel may not make a Guardians Movie out right, but they will get Chris/Starlord in a movie somehow. It might be a team up or something else, but Chris is one of the hottest actors right now. Keeping him on the bench is like throwing away money. The small story I want to see is Blade. There could be Vampires throughout the world, but Blade's story is more about him battling the monster inside. So the setting could be almost any city. In one or two of the smaller movies there needs to be hints dropped for the next big bad (fingers crossed its Dr. Doom) While we are recuperating from End Game Marvel Studios can buy some time with these smaller movies for a year or 2 and boom slam Doom and Sinister in our face.
