Yeah and those occasions do not happen on a regular basis, on a REGULAR BASIS Superman just puts on a pair of glasses to differentiate Clark Kent from Superman - this has been ridiculed for years, the reason why DC still does it is because of how long the concept has been going on, it's part of the mythos and its too late to really shake it up otherwise its not a familiar IP. Peter's only drawbacks with trying to hide his secret identity is location selection and that he doesn't change his voice when in costume, but his costume at least covers his entire body where as Superman's only goes up to the neck - you still see his face. Doesn't matter if people can still see Superman's face. If people see Superman and Clark Kent together at the same place and same time, people will think they just look alike but they're not the same person. I used to have a co-worker who was a dead ringer for Chow Yun Fat. It's been noted many times before that Joe Montana and Barry Manilow look alike. People look alike sometimes. But if you saw 2 people whom you thought were the same person together at the same place and time, the natural and logical conclusion is that they just look alike but they are 2 different people. So that's why many people don't think that Superman and Clark Kent are the same person - because they've appeared together at the same place and time before many times. But Spider-Man and Peter Parker have never appeared together at the same place and time before, yet Spider-Man keeps appearing in the same cities that Peter Parker travels to. So how the fuck do "MJ" and the other kids in Peter's school not make the connection that Peter is Spider-Man? The number of times Superman has acquired the help of the Martian Manhunter or use his robots to fool people into not thinking he and Clark Kent are the same person is very few and in between when you look at the near-century worth of source material and most people are not even aware of those events unless they're major DC fans. Just face it, DC just keeps that concept around because its one of the trademarks people will identify as being of Superman, if the character were brand new they'd probably ditch the concept real quick. Complaining about how nobody realizes Clark Kent is Superman or Peter Parker is Spider-Man is akin to complaining about why water is wet. It's just an utterly pointless criticism because its a staple of these characters to have secret identities just suspend your disbelief like any regular person would do and you'll be fine.

Nick Fury is not 70 years old, his actor is but the character is not. Secondly we know exactly what Fury is doing in the hotel room - to recruit Spider-Man for help in defeating a threat, nothing more. okay, but why did he hit Ned with a roofie then? He knocks him out with the dart because he doesn't know Ned knows who Spider-Man is or that he has helped him out in the past - it's not rocket science.

Not everything has to put the entire city in danger or even the whole world. Agree. Personal stakes can still be as significant but this trailer doesnt show us any of Peters inner problems. Just looks like a run of the mill, save friends and have a good time doing it. Ill wait till trailer 2, maybe it will give us more story points. Yes, I would have to agree - There's got to be something more than what they're promising in the teaser, so hopefully the next piece of footage is more attention grabbing.

I didn't hate it or anything, but I wasn't impressed either. I thought the CGI characters were the usual, and I thought Mysterio was meh. I did like the spidey gliding, though the CG looked a little obvious.
Future trailers will tell a better tale I think.
p.s. Is there ANY sense anticipation and excitement now that we know EVERYONE who died in Infinity War is just... back?

No idiot can put two and two together?

Kansas huh, that's the state where Zod attacked a tiny town for no apparent reason. Maybe I can use that bit of info to figure out who you are dumbass.

You're all going off track. This was to discuss the new Spider-Man trailer, not argue about something else again.

What is with the "home" titles? Will the next one be Spider-man: Homely? After Peter and his classmates finish their tour of Europe in this movie, the next movie will be about Peter and his classmates traveling home on a trans-Atlantic cruise ship. The movie will be titled Spider-Man: The Voyage Home.

There have been many occasions when Martian Manhunter has taken the form of either Clark Kent or Superman and appeared in the same place and time as Clark Kent/Superman. Superman also has used robots to appear at the same place and time to throw suspicion off. But Peter doesn't have any robots or anyone to stand in for him. Ned is too fat to pass as Spider-Man. It's pretty pointless to question this sort of thing, you might as well complain about every superhero who has a simplified human alter ego. I can't remember if I heard Stan Lee say it, or Kevin Smith quoting Stan. Basically Stan wanted to make a character every kid/teen could look at and see himself/herself in the character. The only thing you can determine from Spidey's suit is his gender. Even that could be iffy. I've known more than a few women who could pass as a girl or guy with a full body suit on. That's a pretty cool sentiment. We all could be Spider-man.

Yep. I was discussing the new Spider-Man trailer and then someone brings Superman into this thread. And you're also making the usual trouble stirring comments about it ripping off another movie and pedofphiles, yet again. Knock it off.
