- Hire ILM to recreate him in CGI as a ghost!

Eh, seems a bit shallow. I want the real actor playing the real character.

As someone who likes the 2016 film (yes, someone like me exists) this feels like an insult to the 2016 film.
āI have so much respect for what Paul created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them. However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film,ā Reitman says.
OK, so why do a new film totally unrelated to the 2016 film if you want more stories from the 2016 film personnel? This is basically just sweeping the 2016 film under the rug and pretending it never happened. I think people should give the 2016 film credit for building itself from the ground up and not try to be a rehash of the 1984 like the 1989 film primarily was. And if you think the 2016 film is a remake of the 1984 film, you're wrong. It's not. Now we know for sure there's no effort to give a fighting chance to right whatever wrongs happened with the 2016 film. If Jason wants more stories from the 2016 personnel, then he should convince the studio to make an effort on that.
Right now, this says to me "We know the 2016 film underperformed/flopped so we're going to wipe it from memory and make a new safe, familiar film that will be "The Force Awakens" of Ghostbusters if not a total rehash."
I mean no matter what we were going to get another GB film anyway regardless if it has a male or female cast. And of course this is being done primarily for financial reasons and not just "for the love of the original" or whatever.

Eh, seems a bit shallow. I want the real actor playing the real character. I understand, but if they can bring Peter Cushing "back from the dead" to play Gran Moff Tarkin in Rogue One, there's no reason they can't do something similar with Harold Ramis.

If the 4 teenagers aren't as likeable as the 4 original cast then this won't work. Good luck.

Honestly, it may not be that bad. They did this in the Extreme Ghostbusters (1997) cartoon series and I didn't mind it as much. And it can't possibly be worse than the 2016 version.

Good luck. being teenagers is not necessarily bad, protagonists in original Star Wars were technically teens , but if they center this around 4 high school nerds/outcasts, best to call this something else and not tarnish the original

Is it gonna have the OG cast members? If so, Iām in. Oh wait, Harold Ramis is dead. Umm... Apparently the entire cast are returning including Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis and Annie Potts and Alyssa Milano might even be in it too as Ilyssa since Dan Akroyd said the 2009 game is part of the official continuity and the movie they were planning on making before Harold passed away had Alyssa in it along with Anna Faris, Eliza Dushku and Paul Rudd as Oscar who the original team were training to be the new Ghostbusters. From what I have read they will be going with something very similar but they will be training teenagers to be the new Ghostbusters instead of adults. I am looking forward to seeing it and Dan talked about it in interviews last year and people dismissed him and now it is officially happening and Dan said they were going to explore the Ghost World and some of the more demonic types of ghosts we saw in the game and they were originally supposed to go into the Ghost World in the first movie but they changed his script. Did you know the original script Dan wrote for 'Ghostbusters' was a full on serious Horror movie but Hollywood changed into an Action Comedy much like they did with 'The Mask?' I think it works better with some Comedy elements but I would like to see more Horror in this movie like we saw in the 2009 game.
