Strange, and here I was thinking that a decade was 10 years, not 11.

Strange, and here I was thinking that a decade was 10 years, not 11. It is. But Pats fans have always supported cheaters so it shouldn't be surprising that a Pats fan would attempt to include 11 seasons in a stat that covers 10 years and hope that nobody calls him out on the dishonesty.

Steelers lost 44 games in the 70s. Pats lost 48 in the 2000s.

Steelers lost 44 games in the 70s. Pats lost 48 in the 2000s. Of how many games? 44 of 70 is far worse than 48 of 150.

Who held the previous record for most wins in a decade? The Patriots 2000 - 2010 That's because Disney paid critics to give the Pats a good record.

The math isn't that hard. In the 70s teams played 14 games. So 96-44. In the Tweens they pmay 16 games. So 112-48. It's the difference between 70% and 68.5%. The most important math is eben easier. Steelers won 4 SBs in the 70s and Pats won 2 in the tweens. I'd gladly give up that 1.5% for two extra rings.

Oh man, it must have been a blast celebrating that decade for Steelers fans currently age 60 and older.

Another example of a butthurt fan seeing cheating when no cheating has occurred.

This decade, the Patriots have already won 127 games, breaking the record of 126 games from the last decade, also held by the Patriots.
The 2000s Colts come in 3rd.
The 1990s 49ers come in 4th.

It's all you can do as a fan. Soon we'll be as irrelevant as the Steelers. In all seriousness though, I can only hope we're at least a part of the playoff conversation instead of the laughing stock we usually were before Brady came to prominence.

I have a feeling there’s an entire generation of Pats fans that haven’t known what it’s like not to be highly successful. Every dynasty takes a dip. I’m just curious to see how those snowflakes handle it when their team isn’t making championship games every year. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

She didn't watch football until she started dating me-- in 2001. All she's ever known as a Pats fan is success. It's going to get ugly again, sooner rather than later. The good news: Kraft is one of the best owners in the league, so under his leadership we shouldn't dip into Cleveland or Detroit territory. But he's no spring chicken and I'm not convinced Jonathan Kraft will be as competent as his father. We'll see how it goes. Like you said, all we can do is enjoy it while it lasts.

The sky was falling for Patriots fans when it looked like there was a small chance they might - shock, horror - miss out on a playoff bye!

I think the real question will be if Belichick outlasts Brady. If, in 35 years or so, when Brady has to retire Bill sticks around, they can't possibly fall off as much as other dynasties do. Not right away at least. The other thing is the divisional competition. I have no faith that Miami, Buffalo, or the Jets are going to be anything but disappointing going forward, so continuously missing the playoffs doesn't appear to be in their future to me either.

Yea theres a bit of that now with the Rooneys. Art Rooneys name is god here, and his son Dan was highly respected...but Art the second has people second guessing a lot of things. His name doesn't carry the same level of reverence as his father and grandfathers did.
