So she's really making Mister Miracle but calling it New Gods.
New Gods is about Orion, Highfather and Darkseid, not Scott Free/Mr Miracle.
Its all in the same corner of the DCU (Kirby's Fourth World of the New Gods), but I find Orion to be more primal/interesting/dramatic/tragic.

I'm okay with this since it's a little similar to what I proposed for a Fourth World story. Only in that one MM and Orion are the main characters who escape to Earth; Big Barda & GG are sent to track em down; she defects; they decide to journey to the Source Wall as Darkseid's Elite (led by a disgraced Steppenwolf) track them down.
