(Subjective) 13 Movie Villains with Sympathetic/Reasonable Motives (explain briefy)
01. Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) - BLACK PANTHER: Driven by what he believes to be the childhood murder of his father by King T'Chaka, and belief that the wealth and technology of Wakanda should be used to help oppressed black people around the world rather than kept for themselves.
02. Beatrix Kiddo (Uma Thurman) - KILL BILL: She takes revenge for the massacre at her wedding.
03. Brigadier General Francis X. ‘Frank’ Hummel (Ed Harris) - THE ROCK (1996): Frank Hummel is without question a terrorist and a villain, but one with a tragic history and a surprising amount of heart. Hummel takes over Alcatraz and holds tourists hostage, but he’s not out to get money for himself: he wants the $100 million in government ransom he’s demanded to go to the families of soldiers he worked with who died and were never compensated.
04. John (Axe) Adcock (Scott Glenn) - BACKDRAFT: He uses fire to murder those responsible for a corrupt politician's scheme to make money by shutting down firehouses with falsified data, resulting in endangering the lives of firefighters.
05. Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) - SPIDER-MAN II: During an experiment, Octavius loses his wife when the test goes wrong and has four mechanical arms grafted onto his body at the same time.

06. Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) - THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER: He's totally justified in being angry at the Gods as they (mostly) are ***holes who don't care about their subjects, especially the deity he worshiped, who didn't help his people and let his daughter die. And also he's under the corrupting influence of the Necrosword.
