It's amazing how much these two films parallel each other isn't it?
Both follow up huge 2015 movies that revived extremely popular franchises. Both were more or less met with disdain by fans and both attempted (unsuccessfully) attempted to go in darker, more offbeat directions than their predecessors. Also both are being followed up by third movies directed by the the previous director.

I feel like they might beat the First Order in ten minutes if Blue showed up.
Crossover anyone?

I think that "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" was liked much more by audiences than "THE LAST JEDI" was.
Having said that, I myself actually liked both movies but I actually like "THE LAST JEDI" much more than "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" (I really Really REALLY wish that they hadn't moved the story off of the island though).

I'll take 'The worst films of the last five years' for $200, Alex.

I prefer TLJ but both have their equal share of pros and cons.

It's amazing how much these two films parallel each other isn't it? No it's not. I don't think the two films are comparable.
- Audiences may have complained about Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (JW:FK), but The Last Jedi (TLJ) broke the Star Wars fandom.
- Audience and Critic scores for JW:FK were nearly identical, while those for TLJ were wildly different. The Audience score for TLJ was half the Critics' score.
- Read the Audience Reviews for Star Wars: Episode IX and Jurassic World 3. Audiences want to see Jurassic World 3, but the same can not be said for Episode IX.
- Look at the Chinese Box Office. JW:FK made $261.2 million in China, while TLJ made only $42.6 million. That bodes well for the worldwide box office of Jurassic World 3, but not Episode IX.
- Type "the last jedi one year later" into the search box on YouTube, and you'll see that people are still venting about TLJ. I can confidently predict that, on June 22, 2019, there will not be a similar outpouring of retrospective vitriol about JW:FK.

However they have succeeded in making me not want to talk about Star Wars on line. I’ll just look in anticipation for the final one!😊

I actually welcomed The Last Jedi's attempt to go in a more offbeat direction rather than being a lazy remake of A New Hope, which The Force Awakens pretty much was.
