Name a food or drink item you often find yourself thinking, "I wonder whatever happened to....." ?? SAVE FERRIS Hmm... there's probably tons of them. Just the other day I was wondering whatever happened to being able to buy stick butter in the half-pound package (which had only 2 sticks in it, not 4). Seems like now you can ONLY find the one-pound/4-stick packages.
Beef tongue: I used to see beef tongue offered all the time in local stores' meat departments. Now I rarely if ever see it.
"Big" Grandma's Cookies: I used to find these at gas stations or mini-marts all the time. They were individual packages that contained one large Grandma's Cookie variety (oatmeal/raisin, or chocolate chip, or peanut butter...). Now I don't see them at all. Whatever happened to those??

ZolotoyRetriever - I've seen Grandma's cookies in our local Dollar Generals. Are they the ones that are like a single-serving "Jumbo" size? I used to find those all the time at service stations or mini-marts. They were big enough to serve as a nice "tide you over" snack if you were hungry and it was going to be a while before you were going to get to your lunch or other meal. I'm just not seeing those big ones anymore.

I can buy beef tongue (raw) at many of the local grocery stores. Also tripe, liver, heart and various other "offal" bits.

Now, not at all. Still see beef (and calves) liver, though. I'm sure if I went to a local small, independent butcher shop I'd be able to find all that stuff.

ZolotoyRetriever - I've seen Grandma's cookies in our local Dollar Generals. Yeah... My local CVS Pharmacy sells Grandma's Cookies and I think my local gas station does too... But he did use the descriptive word "BIG"... Not sure if there are bigger packages that what we might be referring to... As far as I know, there have only been one 2-count-cookie "size" packages... As I said, those are still being sold...

Eagle Honey Roasted Peanuts Black jack gum I've missed Black Jack Gum too, nuts. According to this Wiki page, it has been relaunched by Gerrit's Brands just a couple months ago. Maybe we'll see it again on store shelves.

Eagle Honey Roasted Peanuts Black jack gum Sometimes you can get Black Jack, Clove and Beeman's gum from the Vermont Country Store. I have a box of Beeman's on the way, it was on backorder from last month's catalog. You can also get it from Old Time Candy online.

We have stores here you can get all 3. Bit of a rip-off, though. Can also get everything from Chuckles to Violets (disgusting) to Howard's scented gum (also disgusting)

The Oregon brand of canned goods still makes canned Thompson grapes in heavy syrup but its hard to find, I used to see them at a local Food for Less, Piggy Wiggly took over and I haven't been shopping there lately.
