I should really watch cold war it seems... Yes, you should. tell me why. motivate me please. the trailer does nothing for me. it seems like a fairly generic looking romantic story with a pretty woman from eastern europe. not that i hate romantic movies or pretty women or eastern Europe but this one just looks so generic, like what stands out, why should i see it? he loves her, she loves him, there is passion but times of cold war separate them and they either die or get back together. or is there something more? don't spoil it for me but i would be interested to know whats the hook. it looks so bland to me.

Well, first of all, it’s definitely not just a generic and bland love story, it’s much more than that. The love story (which I thought was great, but I can see how some people might find it lacking in depth) is one part of it; there is an entire background to the love story which touches on music, on culture, on the politics of the time. And last but definitely not least, it’s freaking gorgeous!

I'm with Jep Gambardella for Cold War. He nailed it. And from the nominees list, it's gonna be a close race against Roma for Cinematography.

With all the existing threads about nominations, I'm not sure if it's worth doing another with all the categories like last year.
Well, f-it I'm doing the long list!
