Would you accept Ryan Reynolds back as Green Lantern again in a new movie?
New director, new scriptwriter(s), new producers, same cast of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Mark Strong as Sinestro and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris.
That would kind of retroactively make Green Lantern (2011) the beginning of the DCEU, but so what? Of all the things wrong with that movie Ryan Reynolds and Tom Strong were not it. I actually liked them in it. It was the weak story and poor direction that blew it.
So what do you think? Could it work?
p.s. He would be able to make Deadpool jokes in this one, the way he does Green Lantern jokes in that one! That alone would be worth the price of admission! lol

No it'd just be too confusing at this point. Should have been Chris Pine.

Yes I would. If it was done like The Incredible Hulk where they revisit his origin via opening credits, they might skate by just fine. Green Lantern has so much potential for opening the door to other DC characters and villains, it'd be a wasted opportunity for WB to sit on it (hehe).

No. Never saw the original, but it wasn't popular so bringing him back would hurt sales.
Besides, rumor is they want to make Hal the mentor figure to a new GL. Apparently WB wants Tom Cruise to play him.

Apparently WB wants Tom Cruise to play him. If they were smart, they'd cast Michael B. Jordan as John Stewart. I suppose then make it kind like this mashup of Lethal Weapon and MiB.

Not really. Never saw him as Hal Jordan. I would've preferred him as Wally West.

I think they want everyone to forget that movie, but there were good things about it. Does seem like DC is walking on eggshells around this character now though.

I don't think the Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie is this monstrosity that a lot of people seem to make it out to be. However I think Reynolds is entrenched as Deadpool now and I don't think it would be the right thing to do in bringing him back. Mark Strong should definitely be considered because from his short screen time he seemed to have nailed that part.
I think they should either go with John Stewart and as somebody above said Michael B Jordan would be awesome or they should have the Green Lantern movie as cannon but recast Hal and Carol just so they don't have to redo an origin story. Chris Pine would have been perfect. I do think that John Krasinski would be a really good fit here though. No idea on who should play Carol.

I envisioned someone like Lynn Collins before they cast Blake Lively. If they keep that movie's plot as canon, she'd be the right age. I think Matt Bomer would be a cool Hal Jordan too but Hollywood seems like they gave up on him.

I'm not sure he's ever going to be able to do another comic book character again. I don't think people will ever be able to look at him as anything other than Deadpool when it comes to the genre.
Ironically, his performance in those two movies β and Blade Trinity β are all very similar. The only difference is one of those movies was widely accepted. He doesn't have a lot of range and his career Is only hot right now because it Deadpool. He's been looked at as a joke for many years. If Pikachu is successful, will still be in demand, but if it tanks he can easily go back to where he was before.
