Bradley Cooper since he'll get sympathy votes from people who wanted him for Best Director.

It's Rami vs Bale. I'm thinking Bale will win the BAFTA award next month. I read somewhere that he has never won a BAFTA despite being British. The race so far is like this:
Golden Globe Drama - Rami Golden Globe Comedy - Bale Critics' Choice - Bale SAG - Rami
2 for Rami, 2 for Bale. Whoever wins BAFTA will have the edge, I guess. Who knows what the Academy will do. Which one of the two will prevail remains to be seen. My personal pick is Rami but Bale just might get Oscar.

Both Rami and Bradley should lose for bad acting pretending to be straight in fake pr relationships

Is the question who will win or who should win?

Is the question who will win or who should win? I guess 'pick' the winner is a stab at who one thinks 'will' win. Christian Bale then.

Christian Bale will win because he physically transformed himself for the role. Doesn't matter if he already has a Best Supporting Actor statue (which he deserved, by the way); the guy's a great actor, one of the best out there today. Anyone who's seen American Psycho knows that.

I think what Malek has going for him, is his ethnic background and today's climate wants to honor all creeds. Is that why 16 of the 20 acting nominees are white?

There are more white people in the movie industry and they take up the majority. This is not prejudice, just factual stats regarding population. Malek is pretty much white looking too, just not from white caucasian background. I am not so sure of your point here, or are you just wanting to be difficult? Yes, white people take up the majority, but surely there were 16 minority actors eligible for those categories. If the Academy members voted based on race, wouldn't they have chosen mostly minorities?

Within the categories already nominated, race WILL become a deciding factor for many in how they cast their votes, even if it is for a white vote.
As for the nominated votes, logistics just took over again regarding the majority of white players. Are they anymore or less deserving of those of color who missed out? That is why it is all ultimately meaningless. Some performances just stand out more and one could ask why they nominate actors for films that hardly anybody will really care about to see, regardless of color, like Close's and Dafoe's films. Seen once and they will be considered meh by most.
Nominating films that hardly anybody will really care about to see is actually evidence that members vote objectively instead of what people expect. That also applies to voting based on race, which by the way you state as if it was a fact. How can you know that?

They will also vote on who they are cozying up to, who they like personally and who they "subjectively" feels needs to be honored. There is nothing objective about it and never was. That is how it is known. What evidence do you have for such claims?

Bale still has it as well.

How can voting for something be objective? What one feels best and for whatever reasons is always subjective. Its called insight vits. Not when it comes to movies. Sure, as an art form, there's a subjective side to it, but there's also a basic set of rules a movie must follow in order to be objectively a good production.
