I recall a scene in an old Richard Arlen movie from the mid-1930s called LET 'EM HAVE IT. Ruthless gangster Bruce Cabot (channeling John Dillinger) kidnaps a plastic surgeon and orders him to change his appearance -- and then kills the doc. A week later when the facial bandages are removed, the gangster discovers that the surgeon had carved the public enemy's well-known initials into his face! Cabot was so angry that he threatened to dig up the dead doc and kill him all over again!
