The first baseball game I saw in person featured the following Hall of Famers....
Carl Yazstremski Jim Rice Carlton Fisk Eddie Murray Bob Stanley
Oh wait, someone doesn't belong there, I wonder who?

Probably Rickey Henderson, Alan Trammel, or Paul Molitor. Glory Days.
Your post made me think of my 1983 TOPPS Complete Baseball Set I own.
Collecting Dust in storage - I always thought it would turn into like a $100,000 investment
As a kid - you'd look at these guys like they were GODs and larger than life.

Probably Ozzie Smith. My dad took me to a Cardinals game when I was younger. Otherwise it'd likely be Cal Ripken. I didn't become a HUGE baseball fan til about 97 but I knew who these guys were long before then.

83 Topps. Killer set. My uncle got me into collecting cards during the summer of 85. He gave me a bunch of 85 Topps commons to get me started. I remember sitting down and putting those cards into a binder. It does suck how those 80s cards took a nosedive. I guess the plus in it all is that I'm able to get all the cards I wanted back then but could never afford.

The first would be Dizzy Dean on TV.
The first in person would be Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford & Casey Stengel in a 1957 game my dad took me to at Fenway. It was a starstruck moment for a 10 year old boy!

My dad took me to Giants games since I was a baby. I remember Mays at the end of his career and I was a little kid and my dad telling me "remember that you got to see him play live." Mays, McCovey, Marichel...

I bought one a year or so ago for a fraction of that.

They went right after my 'Rated Rookies' I traded a few of those Bo Jackson 87 Donruss rookies to a buddy who was a Bo Jackson freak for a Rickey Henderson rookie. Over the next 6 months Henderson broke Lou Brock's all time SB record and his rookie skyrocketed to around $300. Meanwhile Bo Jackson suffered the hip injury that pretry much ended his football and baseball careers.
