I really don’t remember them playing but they are supposed to be great players. Got nothing against them, just a personal blind spot I guess.

I'm a phils fan and really have no sentimental value towards his death or him as a player.
they won the WS the previous year or so when they acquired him - granted he threw a couple of no-hitters (one in the playoffs against the Reds) - think it was 2010.
was never really 'philly' to me - more 'toronto' - and RIP - horrible story - but his death - well - I'll leave it at that - RIP - great pitcher

Sizemore had a few good years with Cleveland, then got hurt and basically fell off the map.
Roy Halladay was one of the best pitchers of the decade (he even got a lot of wins, hey look at those wins!) and, as an O's fan, you should have seen plenty of him during his tenure with the Jays to the point where I'm surprised you wouldn't remember. If he spent his entire career on the Padres, I'd get it.

No cap logo for him.
"I know we spent the majority of our time in Toronto,” Halladay’s widow, Brandy, said at Wednesday’s official Hall of Fame news conference. “Toronto gave us that chance, that base, that start. But Philly also gave us a chance to win a ring and the passion that we wanted. There’s no way to choose and so we’ve decided that he’ll go in with no team.”

When you wanted to watch an ace perform on the mound & usually know the game would be over in less than 2 hours, which everyone keeps clamoring for, then Doc was the man.
He was stuck in the era of Cy Young candidates pushing for the 20 wins number just to catch voters' eyes. Nowadays he'd be in Kershaw's territory.

December 16, 2009: Traded by the Toronto Blue Jays with cash to the Philadelphia Phillies for Travis d'Arnaud, Kyle Drabek and Michael Taylor.

December 16, 2009: Traded by the Toronto Blue Jays with cash to the Philadelphia Phillies for Travis d'Arnaud, Kyle Drabek and Michael Taylor. Yeah - it was a very odd Winter Meetings Season. They pretty much discarded Lee and got Halladay and the entire Tri-State area was up in arms over not having them both. The rectified that by bring Lee back and constructing the 4 Aces - with Halladay, Lee, Hamels, Oswalt (Joe Blanton was the ugly stepchild) I always thought Drabek would have been an Ace. Wasn't his dad - Doug- pitcher for the Pirates? Taylor - think he spent some time as the Nats CF no? (or is this the wrong Michael Taylor?) And A'rnaud - was on the Mets last I paid attention, no?
