Obviously, we've seen him in Justice League. And personally, I found the character to be obnoxious, but most of that seemed to be the bad writing and directing.
Overall I know basically nothing about the comic character's personality/characterization, so I can't judge whether or not he is the right pick. Supposedly the first director attached to the solo movie was not happy with the casting choice.
What say you? Is he a good choice or another DCECEUU miss fire?

I'm wondering if a lot of it was director and/or studio choices. He came off too much like they were trying to replicate Quicksilver from DoFP. I would wonder if that was Whedon because he was a little different in that vid on BvS. But then, he was pretty much the same in Suicide Squad as he is in Justice League. Then you have how he ran. I've seen a lot of people justify it that he should look like he's skating while running that fast. Even though no other Flash ran like that.

I liked him better than expected. Him and Cyborg worked well off each other.

I liked him better than expected. Him and Cyborg worked well off each other. It felt like a forced version of the Flash and Green Lantern dynamic from the animated series.

Considering the whacky direction they took, the creepy kid from We Need To Talk About Kevin was an odd choice. Then again, his delivery of "Pet Semetary!" was perfect so Ezra could probably do better with material a little wittier than brunch talk and second favorite chair quips.

I thought he felt exactly what Flash should be like.

Miller's kind of a weirdo in real-life, but he's a damn fine actor and could play any role if the script is tight and the direction is as such, a lot of what made his Flash interesting was cut and redone for Justice League so he never really got the best debut. However, I think he deserves another shot and if the script for the Flash movie and direction is solid I think he could surprise a lot of people.

I think the Flash movie is paramount for DC. Yes, Aquaman was a hit, but it's not going to be remembered by anyone as a truly great movie. The Flash should aim high. Of course, it's going to be directed by the writers of Spiderman Homecoming. And to me that's a big red flag.

Like politicidal, I went in thinking he’d annoy me and ending up thinking he was fine. In fact, for all my criticisms of JL, I thought the whole cast (with the possible exception of Affleck, ill-served by Whedon’s puerile joking) fine. The only thing that really bothered me about the Flash character was how obviously they based him on the new MCU Spider Man. I mean, if you have to copy and paste a character, can’t you hide your lack of originality better?
