For example, "Paris Belongs to Us" which was filmed in 1958, and it was funny hearing a background conversation in English, where a guy says, "I don't think Nixon is experienced enough. He's not independent. He's not likable" (with inaudible stuff in between), which is ironic, considering it was the knock on JFK (and his youth, also ironic considering that Nixon was only four years older).

In the Jazz Singer, when Al Jolson utters his first spoken line of dialogue: "Wait a minute, wait a minute! You ain't heard nothing yet." Apparently he spoke similar dialogue years prior but given the significance of the Jazz Singer in the history of sound on film, it's a big deal today.

“The future is now. Soon, every American home will integrate their television, phone, and computer! You’ll be able to visit the Louvre on one channel and watch female mud wrestling on another! You can do your shopping at home, or play Mortal Kombat with your friend in Vietnam.”
Cable Guy
Jim Carrey was just sounding goofy and a little weird back when the movie came out, but look what we have now.

Interesting - it's been many years since I've seen it.

In the Japanese version of Rodan, Shigeru Kawamura talks about global warming as the likely cause of the flooding in the mine.

It was a catchphrase of sorts for him. It's similar to how on the very first Tonight Show, Steve Allen came out and said "This show will go on forever".
