My definite first choice and my vote here too is - Columbo (1971-2003) for my second choice it would be -
Quincy, M.E. (1976-1983) .
Thanks so much msdemos for your subject post .

Quincy was part of that? I always remember it as being an hour long show which it was.

Quincy was part of that? I always remember it as being an hour long show which it was. According to Wikipedia: Quincy, M.E., which was the next to last new Mystery Movie series to premiere, ended up outlasting the parent series itself; midway through the final Mystery Movie season, Quincy was taken out of the wheel lineup and retooled into a one-hour weekly series that ran for seven more seasons, coming to an end in 1983.SAVE FERRIS

I enjoyed a number of these shows, including McCloud, Quincy, and McMillan & Wife.......but at the end of the day there was one, and only ONE, that stood above them all. Oh.........and about that show.......there's, uh.... SAVE FERRIS
