I'm not exactly mad nor I am the DCU tribalist but giving Wonder Woman a nomination would've been equally retarded. BP wasn't even the best superhero movie of the year. And I'm not saying that Infinity War should've gotten one but if The Dark Knight or Logan didn't get nominated, BP surely shouldn't receive one either. If Dunkirk hadn’t came out last year I wouldn’t have minded a Wonder Woman nom. But I feel that one of the contributing factors for a WW nom would have been that it was considered a war film, and you can’t justify that nom when something like Dunkirk came out the same year and reminded us what a real war movie is. I don’t think it’s fair to say that since TDK or Logan didn’t get a nomination that BP shouldn’t. Because TDK was arguably much better than Logan and widely considered to be the greatest CBM of all time. So by that logic no other CBM should be nominated until it’s as good as, or better than, TDK. That’s a pretty high bar. I don't think anyone considered Wonder Woman a "war movie". It is first and foremost a superhero movie and that's what everyone thinks of when they here the title.

I meant a war movie in the context of superhero movies. Like in the way TWS was a political spy thriller.

......became the first superhero movie to receive a Best Picture nomination) have been equally as mad if WW had "undeservedly" become the first superhero movie to receive a Best Picture nomination last year? I'm not exactly mad nor I am the DCU tribalist but giving Wonder Woman a nomination would've been equally retarded. BP wasn't even the best superhero movie of the year. Something has to break that barrier. Once there is a first, the second is easier.

Its snub is why they increased the Oscar slot. Had there been 5+ nominees in 2008, it would have been nominated. As for Logan, 2017 was a more competitive year. 2018 is a bit of a sh*tshow. Two of the other nominees didn't even get good reviews. Logan did get a screenplay nod, which to me is even more impressive than Picture.

The Correct Answer: They'd all be over here boasting about it. Remember Suicide Squad's nomination for hair & make up? Ah yes. Karma's a bitch.
