They'll bring him back if nobody protests his involvement in Suicide Squad 2. People deserve second chances, especially if the worst thing they did was say creepy stuff as opposed to actually doing it. I understood his firing but I also think he's done his social penance, as it were.

I agree on principle. I was one of those who believed James Gunn should never have been fired in the first place and that he deserves to be able to finish his GOTG trilogy.
But from an artistic perspective, considering the direction of humor GOTG2 took I'm a bit afraid to see what Gunn would do with the 3rd.
Fuck em. I didn't think much of his comments at the time, because we live in such a PC World, but once I saw them. They're totally inexcusable.
And in order to get a second chance, you have to lose something first. If you just give them his old job back, what does that say? Let him go suffer with the B team (DC) for a while.
I also don't care what Edgar Wright thinks. He just declares this in the blue as across a post about down to him. I lost respect for him when he complained about Antman.
