So I'm sitting here watching Sixers/Lakers on tnt right now. I can't think of two NBA teams I hate more. When either of these teams lose, I automatically laugh. I'm happy watching Lebron on the bench, I don't feel bad for their injuries, I encourage more to happen.
So who do I root for when they play each other? Well, the Sixers of course, but if Ben Simmons snaps his ankle during the game, Hey Party On Garth! That's a win-win at the Millar home office.
So for you all, what matchups in sports fit the bill for you in this kind of thing. And who do you pick for the lesser of two evils?
NHL- Flyers/Canadiens, once again I gotta take Philly
NFL- Steelers/Broncos, jeez I guess Steelers
MLB- not sure who I hate like the Yankees, pretty much impossible. When Buck was with the O's, there was that, but he's gone. Maybe the smelly A's?? Yeah that could work
What say you?

Any divisional rival. Any AL East or AFC East. Yankees-Jays, Patriots-Jets etc. I guess the only one outside of that would be UNC-Kentucky in basketball. I despise North Carolina for completely illogical reasons and I don't like UK just because I'm no fan of Calipari. He destroys every program he leaves and he will do the same to Kentucky. Oh crap, forgot Ohio State-Michigan in CFB. Fuck the nuts and fuck Michigan and those dopey helmets. I guess you could put Miami-Florida State in CFB too. Not what it was but both programs could go 0 - fer for a few years and I wouldn't shed a tear.

Red Sox/Yankees and Duke/North Carolina because whenever they play talking heads have to talk about it like it's the most important thing ever and that there just isn't anything like it. I mean it's not like the Red Sox and Yankees won't play each other another 15 times this season but nope, they've gotta remind us just how important this matchup is.
Then with Duke/UNC sorry but no regular season game in NCAA basketball could ever be as important as the talking heads try and make it out to be. Wake me up when it's the tournament.

Slightly off the topic...
I pay as little attention to the NBA as I possibly can, but I fucking HATE the Lakers. Why, it seems they always get the best (or one of the best) players in the league somehow. Did they draft Wilt Chamberlain, no, Did he play for them, yes. Did they draft Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, no. Did he play for them, yes. Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, now LeBron. They drafted good players, James Worthy, Earvin Johnson. But they always seem to dance with the prom queen.

I always thought that was pretty sweet - it's an epic rivalry. I remember as a kid getting geared up for Dickie V going crazy that month or so - and the likes of Stackhouse and Montross with the Baby Blue going up against Coach K - fun times ahead

I don't like when the Cardinals play the Rams.
Don't get me wrong, I automatically favor the Big Red, but usually one team is NFC Championship game caliber, and the other one is "first pick in the draft" caliber, so they can only hurt each other ( either in draft position or in playoff seeding )
It's really too bad they are in the same conference ( and division )

I have a similar problem with the Tigers and the Billikens ( although they do not play each other anymore ) what used to be a huge win for the Bills, would also be tremendously damaging to Mizzou's ranking.

I love me my PTI but when they have to dedicate a 3rd of the show to talk about these matchups I get annoyed.

You can rant about hating the Lakers on any of my threads. Hell, I could start an OT thread about the greatest Doors album, and if you want to rag on the Lakers, feel free to. It's Morrison Hotel, btw.....

They play each other twice, almost always on a big stage in the biggest conference. And the campuses are 11 miles apart. Boston is close to New York, but not that close and there's a few miles between Columbus and Ann Arbor. But 11 miles, that has to get uncomfortable and not just in February and March.

I don't like to use the word 'Hate' - but the team I 'Hate' the most. I think it's glorious when your team crushes your elite rivals. Boston fan correct? I want an Elite Celtics, Bruins, Pats, Sox team - so 'me' as a rival can crush your soul and break your heart in the Ultimate Game. Pats, Sox and Bruins aren't are rivals though - but it's still fun to me when they're Elite. It's pick your poison pretty much. But I want my rivals to be Elite: The Cowboys Elite in the NFC Championship Game - only to beat the piss out of them. The Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals - only to beat the piss out of them. The Mets in the NLCS - only to beat the piss out of them. The Penguins in the ECF - only to beat the piss out of them. Give me the Evil Empire - it makes it that much more glorious when 'your' team knocks them off their pedestal.

He counts as a half because i can't remember his first name.
Morrison Hotel, poppycock. It's L.A. Woman. Let me tell you about Texas Radio and the big beat...

LA Woman is great of course, but Roadhouse Blues? Peace Frog? The Spy? Indian Summer? C'mon you know the truth!

Texas Radio and the Big Beat, the title track, Riders on the Storm, Cars Hiss by my Window (great title!), Love Her Madly, Been Down So Long. Factor in that Morrison was a puddle of alcoholic goo by then with hard time in a Florida jail facing him.
Best Doors song...
All 17 minutes.

That might be best version of The Celebration... I've ever heard. That's the one from Felt Forum in New York, right? Truthfully, the best Doors album is American Prayer, but I know it's not for everyone.
