Via Deadline. Casting for the new Bruce Wayne is underway. Ben Affleck shared the same article on twitter.

So they essentially sacrificed a true conjoined cinematic universe Batman by immediately going 45yr old in order to do their BvS/Dark knight Returns adaptation. He kinda sucked in JL so that’s really all we got out of Batfleck. Ehhh... it is what it is.
So we have a Batman, a Joker, another joker unrelated, and now a new Batman unrelated to cinematic Batman or either joker. Are we gonna get a new joker in Gotham City Sirens too if the method guy doesn’t come back?

Ben Affleck was a decent Batman despite the material he was given to work with. I sort of knew Matt Reeves' Batman trilogy was going to have a younger actor as Batman, but it's going to be confusing since he clarified back in 2017 that it takes place in the shared universe.

Thinking of a the fanboys who called "fake news" at the reports post-JL that Affleck was as good as gone.

When you can't even keep an "actor" with as low standards as Affleck.

It takes place in the same shared universe but it's going to take place at an earlier time (probably about 20 years before the events of BvS) so they cast a younger actor. Unlike Wonder Woman, Batman isn't immortal and does age. So while they can have the same actress play Wonder Woman in 1918 and 1984 and the present, they can't have the same actor play Batman in the present and 20 years in the past. How is that confusing?

I figured it had to be a prequel to Batman v Superman hence the change in casting, but Matt Reeves nor Warner Bros has confirmed that yet.

This is getting confusing. So many Batmans.
At the rate they are going they could actually do a BAT CHANNEL. But 24 hours a day instead of "same Bat time."

Calling it. They make this first. Then a Flashpoint movie to upend the Snyder-verse so that "hey he was the real Batman all along".

This is outstanding news. Its being described as more "noir Batman" & he'll be more of a detective in this. I trust Reeves is gonna deliver the goods and give us a badass/great Batman film.
As for Affleck being recast...thank the lord. No disrespect to Affleck (as I do like him as an actor for the most part) but his heart just didn't seem in it from the start. Like he was just collecting a paycheck or something lol. Plus he looked bloated as hell in JL . Glad Reeves is gonna build a franchise around a younger / much more hungrier actor.

Fuck it. I'm in. I had low expectations and didn't necessarily want Batman Begins and it turned out to be my favorite Batman movie so let's do this.

It’s going to be a 90’s period piece then? You just killed my hype for this ;/

I would disagree to a point. I think he really was pouring his heart & soul into it in Batman versus Superman. Like there was an intensity that was sorely lacking in SS or JL.

Would have preferred for Batfleck to stay. Don't like all this solo, unconnected stuff WB are doing with multiple versions of jokers and batmen.
