Red River or The Treasure of the Sierra Madre You get to pick up to 5 but yeah I had some reservations about listing Treasure as a western as I know some people don't think of it as such... but yeah great film, in my top 10 westerns for those who consider it a western. |

1.Open Range (2003) - 10/10 -.The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) -.Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) -.For a Few Dollars More (1965) 5.True Grit (2010) - 8/10 those are my Top 5 Westerns straight up.
p.s. in fact, there are eight movies I gave a 10/10 in general and those four above, which are Westerns, make up half of those eight 10/10's.

You include the inferior Wild Bunch and leave out Ride the High Country.
It's impossible to give any credibility to that list. Too many non Westerns for people who hate Westerns.

darksidebeadle k then … speaking of eye rolls … I laughed seeing Back to the Future III on your list and did a little of mine own ! yeah i popped a few on that i found debatable but that i know people like, but tbf other than the first 10 mins and the last 5 mins the whole movie takes place in the old west with about every western film cliche imaginable. Blazing saddles and treasure of the sierra madre in the same boat. Madre in particular ive never thought of as a western but love the movie and know it turns up on a lot of western lists. |

I vote NO btw I vote YES for Die Hard as an xmas movie and had that question in mind when i watrched it this christmas just been.. I don't really have TOP # lists … and like way too many to list them all but I tend to like the Classic Era Films so included would have to be High Noon , Shane (not on your list  ) Hondo, Red River, Rio Bravo (Wayne trend here  ) some of the more recent ones with James Garner, Tom Selleck, Duvall and Silverado, Appaloosa … and on AND oN. On a recent auto trip tried to make lists of favs and tOtally failed … just too many great films to pick from. |
