Love Casino and The Departed. Gangs of Wasseypur 1 and 2 are worthy mentions. I also like A Bittersweet Life, Korean flick.

Donnie Brasco and Lawless, in addition to what's already been mentioned. To me, the all-time gangster movie will always be Goodfellas. "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster"--The best opening line to any movie, ever.

I wonder why no movies of James Cagney, Bogey and Robinson have been mentioned ? What about movies directed by Raoul Walsh?
