Remember when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP the Big Bopper Richarson along with pilot Roger Peterson died on February 3rd 1959 after a show over in Iowa. Over in the city of Clear Lake? That nearly IMHO killed Rock and Roll until the Beatles came up to save it five years later.

Well, Elvis was getting ready to go into the Army, Little Richard gave up briefly for the ministry, and Chuck Barry did some time over an underage girl there. I NEVER knew that the late great Mr. CB LOVED the underage girls like the late Mr. Michael Joseph "Wacko Jacko Pedo" Jackon LOVED the underage boys.

It's sad that they died, but how essential were Richie Valens and the Big Bopper to rock and roll? I guess Valens was significant for being one of the first to incorporate a Spanish influence into rock music with La Bamba. The Big Bopper was a novelty one hit wonder about on par with the guy who did Flying Purple People Eater. Buddy Holly was the biggest loss of the three.
