Over the years - I've seen a tremendous amount of hate towards this network on this board (and the old IMDB). And I'm fascinated. Personally, I can't imagine life without it. To each their own - we all have different likes, tastes, opinions........... So why do you hate ESPN? Perhaps you're this guy from The Wedding Singer? Or maybe you're this guy from The Wedding Crashers: I'd like to know Go!

Too bad Sule isn't here. He hated ESPN for the "east coast bias". Really hated it.

Espn is fine just watching their in-game coverage.

Really hated it. being on the East Coast - I actually love Neil and Stan - i.e. - the Sportscenter from L.A. airing 'vampire' hours over here on the East Coast.......... Neil is one chill dude........would love to sip on a beer in a beach chair in orange county next to him watching the ocean and moon and bonfire........... love his NHL stuff with barry Melrose - 'cool is the rule'

Well, last night I had to watch Celtics/Knicks on ESPN, and it was basically listening to two and a half hours of some broad and an inept play by play guy doing nothing but speculating on what Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, LA Lakers, blah blah blah. Very little time was spent discussing the actual game we were watching.
ESPN isn't really about sports anymore, it's about sports speculation and soap opera drama. Highlights of games? Not really needed when instead we can spend more time discussing "who said this" and "what does this mean" garbage.
Other than PTI, I have no idea why anyone watches ESPN.

Espn is fine just watching their in-game coverage. And that's about it for me. Not watching Stephen A. and all the rest of the other shows.

to be fair to espn, they have so much money tied up in tv rights they donβt have much cash left over for reporting, and acutual journos, the margins are much better hiring a loudmouth.

I agree - she's nauseating to listen to. They've dolled her up a bit putting some lipstick on here over the years which I find comical. She's a nasal nose breathing hater and I can't stand when she does Sixers games - because to me its like you're just rolling out the carpet for this hater - and I do hate to play the gender role - and perhaps this speaks volumes about me as a human being - but my first initial reaction is - go cover the UCONN women's college hoops game on ESPN5............... but perhaps this is something I may need to work on as a human being.

I hate espn because of their ultra-left politics. Enough said!

what about max Kellerman? you're a new yawker - a breeding ground for old school boxing legends. Max is a topnotch boxing expert. he's a well respected analyst .........and on First Take with Stephen A. - and to a lesser exten - Teddy Atlas who they had to boot because they couldn't put restraints on him for shooting his mouth of but have brought him back in a limited role. no love for new kid on the block Will Cain? how's about Golic and Wingo?

Doris Burke, that's it. I was gonna say Doris Roberts but I think she was the mom on Everybody Loves Raymond.

I donβt hate ESPN but I understand a lot of criticisms of them. I think ESPN shills heavily for the NBA while ignoring a lot of other sports, I donβt think they give CFB and CBB enough attention, and I think just like all corporate media they have a bias towards those in positions of power and will never criticize superstas players, league commissioners or team owners. Also they love to race bait and make race an issue when it isnβt one, especially since the rise of Skip and Stephen A on First Take, itβs quite pathetic at times.

I dont hate ESPN at all. I just hate quite a few people that they employ. However it's not hard for me to avoid those people. I can avoid Stephen A by simply not caring about the NBA or by not watching First Take. Skip and Colin the same way tho they now work at Fox. Idk his name but some young dude that guest spots on shows really annoys me because he is trying to clearly be the next idiot that says stupid shit for the views like Skip and Colin. Nobody should have time for that garbage. I also cznt stand Lebatard or his dad so it's easy to avoid them as well.
I love PTI and Around the Horn. I love Katie Nolan though she is massively underutilized. I love their Fantasy Football content and coverage with Field Yates and Matthew Berry.

I don't hate ESPN. I haven't had cable in years. But one thing I do notice - they tanked Monday Night Football. The only time I watch is when my local team is playing and my local channel airs the ESPN feed. And dear lord, it looks like a community college production. Everything is weird about it. The games are weak match-ups. The announcers are just plain annoying. The entire visual aspect is like watching a YouTube video of a 15 year ago game. It's just probably the least appealing NFL game to watch any given week.

PTI is the only one I tune in for. That and the NFL highlight recaps. Mostly everything else can go fuck a cactus!

PTI is quality. Some of the 30 for 30's are good. Their Legends of Cricket series was excellent and so is their cricinfo website. I like Ice Hockey and baseball and that's the only place to watch itbin Oz.
On the downside, Sport Centre and most of their other non live sports content are utter gash.
