Patriots have some good home games next year. Do you think they start off with the Chiefs, the Cowboys, or the Steelers?
I'd say it would be the Cowboys, but in the fifteen years of having the Super Bowl champs playing on the Thursday to start the season, only once has the game been between the conferences (Broncos-Panthers after those two had played in the Super Bowl).
The Chiefs would be the best game, but they may choose to save such a marquee game for later in the year seeing as how that could be for home field advantage in the playoffs.
The Steelers didn't make the playoffs and may lose both Bell and Brown, but they're still a big team with storylines that would work (only two franchises with 6 Super Bowls, Steelers were the last team to beat the Patriots this year, etc).
Maybe they could choose the Jets if they signed Le'veon to go with Darnold; the Giants would offer Barkley and Beckham and (perhaps) a final Brady-Manning game.
Basically, I'm already ready for the offseason to begin: free agency, trades, draft, schedule release, etc.

Cowboys would suffice for most parties. I really can't see the Chiefs as that'd be a defacto playoff game & a tough one for the champs. Steelers maybe, but we've seen that movie so often already.

I'd bank on the Chiefs.

Actually, their game against the Chiefs will be on the road I believe. So that won't be it.

Was seeing this on twitter from a few accounts. There ya go. That's the one it should be. Aren't they both the NFL's oldest teams? And it is THE rivalry in the NFL.

Patriots lose their opener. Everybody freaks out. Patriots make the playoffs. Rinse and repeat.
