I think you've got to go with an old school act. Any modern day artist will get hate on them from a vocal group no matter who they pick. Taylor Swift? Tons of people hate her. Same goes for Ariana Grande. Nicki Minaj? Same. Miley Cyrus? Same. Ed Sheerin? Same. And so on.
So thinking of some old timers who could maybe still put on a show I think the group of people would either respect it or they'd at least be willing to accept it more so than just shitting on it like they did with Maroon 5 who isn't even that bad but they're not great. If you checked Twitter you'd think they were Nickelback or something.
So in the end, my choice would be Bon Jovi. Give us the classics. Living on a Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive, You Give Love a Bad Name, It's My Life etc.

According to Wikipedia "On April 29, 2018, the band performed at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the last ticketed event at venue before the start of demolition in the summer of 2018." Idk if that was their "last performance" but it's at least relatively recently. Whether or not they were any good idk. I wouldn't mind it if they just lip singed either tbh if they can't sing anymore.

.........with NO restrictions whatsoever, who would you go with ?? SAVE FERRISNeil Young, though he'd never do it. Rockin' in the Free World.

Cypress Hill. The NFL would love the message of classics such as “How I Could Just Kill a Man” and “I Wanna Get High”. Though maybe they’re better suited for the California SB in a few years.

RUUUUUUUSH!!!
Instead of the American anthem they come out and play their anthem, Tom Sawyer.
At halftime:
Seven And Seven Is (terrific Love cover) One Little Victory 2112 Parts 1 and 2 (Overture and The Temples Of Syrinx)
