Not sure how I feel about my Braves. They're a Donaldson injury away from being the same as last year while the other NL East teams (aside from Miami) got or are getting better. I really wanted to see them land a true ace or improve the bullpen but nope it's not looking likely. I do have a full season of Ronald Acuna to look forward to though. That kid is exciting.

I wish Mookie Betts was on the Mets. I remember when the Phils were gauging deals for Hamels they apparently swatted down a deal for Betts and Swhihart.
Don't know how true that is - maybe you Ray, Millar, And Goodman since their Sox fans or Nuts can chime in - or Frank since he's a Phils fan or Nuts - or if it was the BoSox that pulled it after going back and forth. Could swear Hamels for Betts was on the table but Phils kept pushing for more. Sickened me it was all set up for Hamels to 'come home' this trade deadline - they didn't make the move and he lit it up for the Cubbies.
Was all over the news for quite sometimes - they went with the Texas deal instead for a handful of prospects who have all pretty much made the majors - none of which is setting the world on fire like Betts.
If memory serves - didn't Betts start off slow and wasn't setting the world on fire?
Nice to see the kid become a superstar.
The rumor I heard was just Swihart and a throwaway or two. Never heard about Betts until he clicked and then just from Philly sources. Swihart was a top flight catching prospect at the time. Sox GM Ben Cherington held on to prospects like Scrooge McDuck. And Mookie never stared slow, to my knowledge. In 2014 he hit .355 at AA, .335 at AAA and .291 in Boston. He was a 2b prospect and thought to be expendable, sitting behind Pedroia. Like Jeff Bagwell was expendable, a 3b sitting behind Boggs and Scott Cooper. Thank God lightning didn't strike twice.
