NL needs the f'n DH already & here's why: the DH is all but gone in the minor leagues. Pitchers hitting for the first time since high school... what's next, field goal kickers out of high school?
Just stop. We pay to watch the game! Not amateur reality tv.

So basically, it took us about 5 seconds to expose the stupidity of this rule. Easily fixed - simply restrict the amount of pitchers allowed in the bullpen per game. If you burn all 5 (per se) then you’d better hope your 3B has a decent slider. Make big league managers earn their fucking money. Likewise pitchers. It is my second biggest gripe regarding baseball - ‘specialist pitchers’. 8th inning specialists. Lefty one batter specialists. Gimme a break. Any pitcher worth his pay check in the major league should be confident enough to get an out against any hitter, anywhere, anytime. As for the DH - dumbest rule in sports. Not only do have a genuine player who doesn’t bat, you replace him with one who doesn’t field. It also eliminates one of the best substitution situations in sports - the double switch..... Which is why I like adding strategy by burning the DH when the pitcher has been changed since the last time he batted. Would keep pitchers in the game longer if you need that bat or don't want pitchers having to bat. Or maybe the DH goes to the field and then you could switch the lineup spots of the DH and fielder.

^^ Yep, I hate the way pitchers are being used these days. Back in the day if you were the announced starting pitcher you were responsible for pitching BOTH ends of a double-header! Having said that, baseball used to be my favorite sport, but the games have gotten soooo loooong, with all the dead time between pitches, etc, so any new rule to speed things up gets my full endorsement.
