Comments like these give Hollywood actors and the Academy a bad rep. "It's an honor just to be nominated" isn't just a cheesy way to make the loser feel better, because they're not a loser. They were told by an important organization that their work was better than literally hundreds of others'. Just yesterday they did that luncheon, which is a why to confirm that all the nominees are equals. I could forgive someone for talking this way after not getting a nomination, but the 1st thing Bradley felt when told this was embarrassment and he considered it bad news! Come on! And he literally says he didn't get anything when in fact he got nominated in 3 of the 4 categories he was eligible for (including the most important category of the night)! Also, he's gotten 7 nods in his entire career! Ungrateful much? By the way, what did he mean by "I didn’t do my part"?

Good. I wouldn't want to see his ego even more inflated. Can't stand him.

I just find his persona to be so "try hard". And haven't really been impressed with any of his performances that I've seen (esp his nominated performances).

Why does he want an award for a movie that's already been made 3 or four times in English and once in Spanish? And nearly every version is well known among cinema fans. This movie never needed to be made.

This movie never needed to be made. 1) Being a remake doesn't make a movie automatically bad. In fact, this is said to be as good if not better than the 1954 version. 2) In Spanish? When?

A white American man. His chances are slim to none of ever being nominated again.
Unless he makes a movie depicting Trump as Satan. Then his chances are very good!

www.imdb.com/title/tt2076149/?ref_=fn_al_tt_6I agree that movies can be remade well. I get the impression, however, that Cooper chose to make this movie based on its history of success in all the times it's been done in Hollywood before. He assumed success based on the idea's prior track record and he was disappointed that he didn't get an award for it. Perhaps I'm biased against remakes at the moment since so many of them in the areas of film that I'm most interested in.

I think you're pointing out that this version's better and doing your best to make me look stupid for overlooking the point he made. But since there's a slim chance you're disagreeing with his opinion and think that the new version is worse than the 1954 version I'll ask you to clarify.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't think the 2018 movie is as good as the 1954 one, let alone better.

I was talking to movieman. I guess I just misunderstood him. Bradley Cooper's version is an absolute bore. The original is beautiful and tragic.
