That's a good question and one I'm not sure I can answer without some serious debating with myself. The only one that would be able to make it is La La Land but I'm not sure if it is top 10 decade material.

I don't think any of these movies in 2016 are even close.

Manchester by the Sea (which would be my #3 or #4) and probably La La Land. Nice. I still need to see Manchester, I'll probably get around to it sometime this week.

Doubtful. There haven't been many good movies in the last decade
Don't give up the fight for truly independent cinema!

Doubtful. There haven't been many good movies in the last decade Don't give up the fight for truly independent cinema! Well if there hasn't been a lot of good movies this decade then surely it'd be pretty easy for a 2016 one to make it on the list?

I don't think so, when i think of movies i liked or loved in 2016 my mind goes blank... maybe if i check a list of films released in 2016 i remember what i liked the most but very few films stand out.

None. Closest would be Hacksaw Ridge and The Witch.

Captain America Civil War and Hacksaw Ridge.
Both the top of their genre over the past six years.

The Witch would probably land somewhere in my top 10 of the decade. Totally. The atmosphere alone gets it on the list.

Arrival and La La Land. La La Land specifically has been the best movie of its genre the past decade.

Have to admit I am watching less and less recent or modern films. When I do watch one I am usually underwhelmed. I can't think of any 2016 films that would even make my top 100.
