Simple question. Do you consider yourself stupid?

I started working right out of high school. Worked hard and made good investments. Retired at the age of 47. If that is being stupid then I am glad I am stupid!

In my opinion anyone who works hard and can retire at age 47 is pretty intelligent.

So you think no one can have both intelligence and skills?
BTW when most 49 year old men (I retired two years ago) are going to work tomorrow this illiterate is going fishing.

No, as it's safe to say most people should be somewhere around average, give or take, and i don't see average-ish as being stupid as to me stupid would be noticeably below average or worse. but i would not be surprised if some areas i am a little above and other areas a little below the middle of the pack, but this is only a guess, and this might apply to most people(?). but i always say as far as general intelligence goes... it's your ability to learn things to see what your limit is here (like where you just can't get something after a certain point would basically be your cut off point) has to be some form of intelligence. also, i imagine it's your ability to figure things out or reason things out is another form of intelligence. but it seems some people equate someones lack of knowing certain things to being stupid but that does not guarantee that the person is really stupid as it's most likely a lack of education etc. another thing... it almost seems like sometimes you can just tell someone is intelligent (some people just give off that vibe) or a bit below average just by looking at them, especially when you hear them speak for a bit etc. or like the way some people act... as some people act like goof off's etc which can give you the impression that they might be a bit below average. but even this is still no guarantee of them being below average as some people just have this 'i don't give a *beep*' mindset even though they might still be average-ish (who knows, possibly above average) if they cared/tried etc. but it makes you wonder if general intelligence equates to someones success in life from a $$$ standpoint. but i would guess it's probably a combination of things as some people might be intelligent enough but not be all that motivated and are happy enough living around average $$$ etc etc. or like some people might just happen to learn certain things that make it easier for them to obtain $$$ etc etc. but i guess the human mind is a complex thing as when it comes to life in general people seem to have their own areas where they are good and other areas they are not so good. like for example... some people might be a brain in books but seem to be a bit off when it comes to common sense etc. or like some people might be able to learn stuff in books but physically doing what they learned it takes another sorta skill etc and they might not be good at it. just some thoughts

Ehhh, I'm a real dummy. As Socrates put it (or didn't--no actual recorded proof he said it), "I know that I know nothing."
