Just saw that. I'm sad to see him go. He had a nice career and was a really enjoyable screen presence and gifted actor.

I loved him in Wolfen & Looker. R.I.P.

I was watching 'Loophole' only the other day.
Terrific as Arthur Seaton in 'Saturday Night and Sunday Morning'. That scene where he's at his bedroom window and uses an air rifle to shoot a pellet at Old Ma Bull's backside, so funny.

I immediately go to Big Fish, especially with this news since his character in that film concerns a terminal man looking back on his life.
But obviously he had a huge and widely varied career. 5 Oscar nominations, 9 Golden Globe nominations (3 wins), 14 Bafta nominations (3 wins).
Iconic as Warbucks in Annie, a great Scrooge, later specialized in playing Churchill, classed up Wolfen, visited and resisted Dickens, and mentored James Bond.

He would probably laugh at the heartfelt detailed obituary you composed in his honour.
