I just miss the ability to comment on individual films. I usually stuck to the boards of films that I really enjoyed like The Omega Man, the Indy films, and others. I miss it too.

True, the old Sandbox had become such a cesspit overrun with kiddies and holiday youth that the grown ups adjourned with thanks to the Watercooler. Remember notanotherathem by any chance? The girl who successfully faked her own death. Well until people dug deeper. I was just lurking at that point, but it made me realize just how crazy IMDb could be. Yes of course...did I mention 'off the wall'? She had been flirting with a European guy (Andymion) and faked her own death in a car crash to get out of an awkward situation...….good times!

In the beginning, it used to be the Beyonce board until all the useless trolls came in. We mostly had off topic threads on that board.
Apart from that, I did liked posting on forums for different tv shows.

I remember one post that was so hilarious. 2 dudes were fighting over calling Beyonce fans "The Beehive". One guy was having a fit saying they should be called "Beyonc-Gays" LMAO. Good times

I remember an IMDb user named raventhom had a series of threads, one for each season. The threads contained his commentary on each serial in the season. Unfortunately, it appears raventhom never made the journey here. I still have on my computer text files where I prepared my replies to raventhom's posts, for example: THE TALONS OF WENG-CHIANGI remember the user raventhom and some - though not many - of the posts he made. It seems so many of the individuals we interacted with on a daily basis simply disappeared into thin air, as if they were simply willed out of existence by some Marvel Universe villain. Fortunately, a handful of users whom I was quite close with all made the journey to another website, where we keep in touch to this day. I believe you yourself are a member there. PS - I have every piece of footage currently known of from Classic Who in my collection. THE TALONS OF WENG-CHIANG rates very highly in my list of favourites. If you're referring to IM Discussion Forums, yes I am a member there. I joined Feb 6, 2017, but it looks like my last post was Jun 23, 2017. I haven't logged in over there recently, because it was so dead compared to here. Also at some point that site stopped working properly with Seamonkey, my browser of choice. Maybe it's been fixed now, but I feel like I've been gone too long to come back now. And yes, TALONS is so great.

Probably the board for 'Lord of the Rings' (1978), which became the unofficial general discussion/fun and games board for regulars of the boards for the Peter Jackson "Lord of the Rings" movies (aka the "Ringnuts"). Regulars called it the "Bakshi Board" after director Ralph Bakshi. Occasionally, someone wanting to actually discuss the movie would show up and complain about all the off-topic posts, but generally we had the run of the place.

And every so often a technical glitch occurs, but it seems to get fixed again - unless it was some sort of permanent "upgrade". After recently replacing my laptop, I seem to be bouncing around between browsers...

Tough call as there were so many. I guess The Lion King board, so many passionate arguments. Shame I wastable to convince anyone that TLK is the most overrated animated films in history. I find that easy to believe. I still think it's a fine film, but...

I posted almost exclusively in the trivia games board. I have seen a few of the many players on that board over here. Nice people, all four or five of them, but I really miss some of the others. We were devastated when we learned that the boards were shutting down after we had been playing those games for years. I could probably count on both hands the number of posts I made to other boards but I looked at them more often than I posted. The players who made it over here that I can remember were jervistech, ellenmacg and mrsehj. Old diehards like me.

The Sandbox back in 2008 was a fun trainwreck. Many lulz were had there at the time. About this point 10 years ago there was a huge exodus over the course of three weeks, and then it was pretty much the LemonPot board (someone called LemonPot kept it alive for something like 5 years or so).
The Video Game board prior to early 2007 was a really great place. There were about 50 or so constant regs that kept the place stable and close-nit. They made it a nice place. Then some trolls flooded the board en mass and ruined everything. Things recovered after a few years, but it was never the same again.

The Passion of the Christ was released in 2003. I was told the board talked about the movie for a couple of years until it became repetitive and boring. Then they started discussing all other subjects. It became more like a General board, sort of like a more mature Soapbox. I joined in 2005 and noticed it wasn't like any other movie board I had seen. The tightly-knit community called itself "The Passion Pit", later shortened to just "The Pit". For years there had been complaints about off-topic posts on TPOTC board. In 2007 the IMDb had an expansion where they created the Religion board among others. Then the admins herded us onto that new board by punishing off-topic posting. In the next couple of years TPOTC board slowly became a ghost town. I remember that as well. It had become a general religion board and only stopped being so after IMDb created a Religion board. In fact, most the original IMDb Religion board posters came from "The Pit".

That may have been true once. But "Avatar" now reigns as the most overrated animated film in human history. Not even close. For as much money as it made, Avatar receives just as much criticism as praise, if not more so. On the other hand, say anything negative about The Lion King and people act like you insulted a member of their family. Also, even with all the CG, I don't consider Avatar to be an animated film so they're not in competition with each other anyway.

I presume that was you. You had a pet hypothesis called "Homo Superior" which stirred up a lot of people.
