I spent the most time on the INTK board followed by Books and the assorted Harry Potter boards. Like others here, I really miss the individual boards for movies and TV series. If I had a question about a specific movie or episode, I could usually get an answer there.

The I Need to Know board. On the old site it was very active but on this site it is rather dried up, like a ghost town. I stumbled in late about 2010. Rip, IMDb and Bravomailer are the only regulars on here that I remember from there. There may be others using different names. It was fun while it lasted.
Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end.
EDIT -- Add Bargle to that list. I remember him too.

The Beyonce board was hilarious when a newbie came in and freaked out that not a single post was about Beyonce. I remember one post that was so hilarious. 2 dudes were fighting over calling Beyonce fans "The Beehive". One guy was having a fit saying they should be called "Beyonc-Gays" LMAO. Good times Lol, yeah there were pretty funny moments from the board. I'll admit that. I remember one time someone said something like Beyonce is only for gays, girls, and ghettos. LMAO I have a straight male friend who likes some of her songs. SOME. and I have a gay male friend who hates her guts. I'm glad the annoyances from that board didn't come here

The crap which passes for gay divahood these days is appalling.

That may have been true once. But "Avatar" now reigns as the most overrated animated film in human history. Not even close. For as much money as it made, Avatar receives just as much criticism as praise, if not more so. On the other hand, say anything negative about The Lion King and people act like you insulted a member of their family. Also, even with all the CG, I don't consider Avatar to be an animated film so they're not in competition with each other anyway. The fact that you don't see Avatar as animation goes back to the overratedness of that silly cartoon. Of course it's animated. Do you think those creepy looking cat people were real?

I was one of the those snide pretentious Soapboxers who made fun of it. I started posting on the Soapbox in 2006. So it was after the so-called heyday. And I did endure Ben and the "later crap" up until it closed.

Well, you actually missed out on a heaps fun light and hilariously goofy board in the god old days of the Sandbox, with some of the funniest people. I used to post on both and found the Soapboxers pretentious and argumentative, where as we were silly ( as opposed to stupid) and had some of the best trolls and identities that are legends. People committing fake suicide, people pretend dying of heart attacks, people REALLY dying, the guy who quoted Beethoven pretending he was leaving the Boards.... imaginative trolls...… a laugh a minute

I think Soapbox around 2010 had become what the Sandbox was 5 years before. Remember by 2010 the Sandbox had nearly grinded to a halt.

Many classify CGI as a form of animation. CGI is definitely a form of animation. But if it's mixed with any real world elements the movie isn't considered an animated movie. Jungle Book only had one human character the rest was CGI and it's considered a live-action and the new Lion King will also be considered live action. Tutu doesn't consider avatar an animated movie and neither does the movie business.

And it pretends to be a serious groundbreaking movie which Lion King does not.

She made a good point though, Avatar made a lot of money but a lot of people think the movie sucks myself included, where as with Lion King a lot of people do consider it one of the best movies of all time. I love Lion King but I agree I think it is a little overrated cuz I think there was many animated movies in the 90s that were just as good.

Tough call as there were so many. I guess The Lion King board, so many passionate arguments. Shame I wastable to convince anyone that TLK is the most overrated animated films in history. That may have been true once. But "Avatar" now reigns as the most overrated animated film in human history. I agree. Everyone was falling over themselves saying how great it was, when all I saw was blue cats. I've seen video games with CGI as good or even better than Avatar. As for the plot, well that wasn't all that special or even original. There's even been comparisons to FernGully: The Last Rainforest.

When I first started on IMDb the first board I was a regular on was the Jurassic park 4 2008 board. Obviously that board stopped existing because that movie was scrapped. We argued a lot probably could have given any board a run in that category, but it was never personal. I even met a semi famous person there who has decent acting credits. Every time I see the user Harry Skywalker here it puts a smile on my face because he was a regular there. If you know how he argues imagine a whole board like that. There's been a few. One of them which I did like participating in, was the one for Corey Haim, because he was my schoolmate, before he became a famous movie star. However, I only started to participate on that one, after he had died, even though I had been posting on IMDB since 2004. I deeply regret not going to his message forum sooner.

Music General in its heyday was the funnest board to post on. Many friendly and interesting personalities posted there during the mid-2000s. I was a 'regular' there for a few years then I made the horrible mistake of posting on the Politics board. I gravitated between both boards for a few more years. Politics could be fun at times but it could also be an open sewer and descend to Soapbox level madness, it was during those times that I'm glad Music General still existed. I probably should've just stayed on Music General all along.
