Just about sums the two movements up really.

I always think of Spock being buried in space when I hear Amazing Grace.

I think that rally was being held in Ohio, and those people were saying, "Hail, Dayton".

WTF is an 'Abortion rally'?
Do you have to be pregnant to attend, or 'just trying'?

People are just wacko with nothing better to do. If one spreads their legs and gets pregnant, they either have the kid, or terminate it. The choice is there and the rest is just ballyhoo over nothing and a bunch of weirdo's poking their noses into everyone eles's business, which is inconsequential to them.Control issues much....

I'm guessing the ones who actually chanted "Hail Satan" were right-wing ringers planted to make the pro-choice crowd look bad. I read in coverage of this demonstration, only a very few were actually saying that. Most were saying other, normal things, like "Not the Church, not the state, women must decide their fate."
It would make no sense for people serious about keeping the right to choose to use such inflammatory language. It would be self-defeating.

So you're saying that there are religious people on both sides? I can believe that.
There's an old saying : There is no cause so right that one cannot find a fool following it.

I actually just listened to This American Life’s 666th episode which was largely about Satanism. They are overwhelmingly atheist and I assume being pro-abortion and atheism go hand in hand.

I only heard one "hail satan", and that was from the girl at the end. Big deal. There was no chanting of "hail satan".

"Just about sums the two movements up really."
Actually it really only sums up the pro life side ("Let's base our beliefs on outdated mythology"). The person chanting I'm sure was being being tongue in cheek.

Just about sums the two movements up really. What this post actually sums up is Cody's characteristic inability to recognise a moment of irony. I would suggest that it is highly unlikely, despite what some fervent fundamentalists might think, that those who support a woman's right to choose are Satanists. It is more likely than any such chanting is an attempt to get a rise out of their opponents. Looks like it worked.

When you consider the fact that those same "pro-lifers" likely don't give a crap about the kid once they're out of the womb, it's pretty funny seeing them being mocked.

This has always been such a stupid argument. Considering many prolifers are conservative leaning and also against welfare programs that struggling parents may have to rely on, there's probably some truth to that. They want to force them to have a child they can't afford but they also don't want to give government assistance to help raise it, what fucking garbage.

If they can’t afford to raise a child then here’s an idea....Wear a rubber! Problem solved. And If that fails...what would you say is the more civilised thing for the mother to do. a) Kill the human being growing inside her. or b) Give it up for adoption to a loving couple who don’t happen to be privileged enough to have babies of their own.

Why would an atheist believe in Satan? I mean, theoretically one could believe there is Satan, but not a god, but I seriously doubt it. For me, I stopped believing in Satan long (years and years) before I finally concluded there wasn't a god. And no, pro-abortoin and atheism don't necessarily go hand in hand. I'm an atheist who is not pro-abortion.

The Catholic church forbids contracpetions
2. You want to punish people over one mistake?
3. Planned Parenthood actually provides contraceptions/birth control so people don't have to get abortions in the first place, but people like you want to defund them
4. Calling a "fetus" a human being is kinda like calling a sapling a tree. If you're gonna play these silly games, should we also consider a sperm cell a human?
5. Children in the foster care system don't always wind up in "loving homes", do you know anything about the foster care system?
