Never had any interest myself. Saying all tattoos are trashy is painting in broad strokes, though personally I think there is such a thing as too many tats. Tattoos are like anything else: My advice would be to do what makes you happy, don't just do it because you saw someone else do it. Also, keep them off your neck and your face.

If they're thoughtful and done by a quality artist, then they look good. When you get a stupid $50 butterfly on your butt cheek, or the Chinese character letters on your leg that mean zero to you, it looks stupid. Either way, the idea that tattoos are inherently trashy is, to me, balderdash.

I agree in theory, but I don't think I've ever seen somebody with tattoos and thought 'Wow that really looks cool and classy.' The vast majority are stupid, have a pretty shallow explanation, and look pretty damn ugly. |
