I was a vegetarian for a few years partly due to a fortune cookie.
Opened it when dining with my ex and it said, "Accept the next proposition you hear." A few seconds later she asked, "honey, will you do this death and dying workshop with me? "OK" I sent her into shock.
Anyway, it was a weekend retreat where they only had vegetarian food and I felt really good eating it. So that was our next thing to do together.

I typically don't eat the cookie (because they taste like cardboard to me), so I rarely even read the fortune inside. I missed a lot of opportunities to win the lottery, I suppose.
