Drama-I have to say Rocky. Rocky is just a great date movie in general. It's a boxing movie that has a sweet love story as a subplot. It isn't overly sappy, and it's hard to be cynical about Rocky and Adrian.
Scifi-The Time Traveler's Wife. This film is underrated as a science fiction film. It approaches time travel in an interesting way IMHO. The book is even better.
Romance-For me it's The Notebook. I know how cliche that is, but as someone who doesn't like chick flicks all that much, I love this one. It's a great story.
Comedy-Ugh, this one was hard, because I don't like romcoms. My pick is The Princess Bride, because, it's The Princess Bride. Any other choice is inconceivable!
Horror-The obvious choive is My Bloody Valentine, but I'm going to go with Spring. This lesser known film is about a guy who travels to Italy and falls in love with a woman who is actually a monster. It's worth a watch for horror fans. Trailer:

Animation - Beauty and the Beast Good call, it's a timeless story. I'd probably go with Lady and the Tramp.

BUMP!
I watched both My Bloody Valentine movies. The 1981 version is better IMO.

It's very moving when, after trying and failing to have a child, he first meets his future daughter.

My Bloody Valentine is my main choice. The 80s one of course not the redo.

My Bloody Valentine is my main choice. The 80s one of course not the redo. Haven't seen the original, but I must say I was impressed with the 2009 adaptation. The story-line was surprisingly intricate and detailed. It handled the whole mystery-thriller schtick quite well, I felt.
