He's a football genius, easily the best English manager about, one of the best in the world! The FA have made some bungles in the past, but sacking Big Sam after one game has to be the biggest bungle of all. He genuinely could have won the World Cup for England. We're our own worst enemies. Do you think the Italians or the Argentinians would have sacked him when he broke no rules? As Big Sam said himself, if his surname was Allardici then Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid would all be crawling over broken fucking glass to get his signature!. Well ours and their loss, is Palace's gain. Who knows what heights he will reach with a half decent squad next year? Could he do a Leicester? Well probably not, because that was just a freak of epic proportions, but if anyone can, Sam can. Respect the Sam!

Four wins in a row is impressive. He did have a woeful start at Palace though. I bet his points per match figure since he arrived still isn't that spectacular.

Yes, but he took over a team that couldn't defend for toffee, the big Sam magic doesn't happen overnight but now they're reaping the benefits, keeping clean sheets for fun, turning over the champions elect in their own back yard and guiding them to a healthy position. If he can keep those attacking players at the squad, then I expect them to push on next year. And remember, Mourinho got turned over at Chelsea, what was it, 4-0?

I'm hoping the same thing but not really convinced we will get Van Dyke.

He's only gone and done it again! Big Sam for Prime Minister! Yeah, fair play. Arsenal came looking for their 3rd win in eight games and he shut the door firmly in their face...and wedged himself up against it for good measure.

He generally gets respect for what he does. You wouldn't necessarily want him managing Baca though.

You betta recogniiiiiiiiiiiiize!
Big Sam's on fire!
He's beaten Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and drew with the champions, Leicester in his last 5 games. What a bunch of muppets the board at the FA are. That's like the equivalent of beating Brazil, Argentina and the Harlem Globe Trotters one after the other (and getting a point against, let's say, the 1992 European Champions, Denmark). We could have won the WC next summer, not too late to change your minds, mind.
Which paper was it that masterminded the sting that saw him sacked, was it the Telegraph? That will have to go down as a bigger boo boo than The Daily Mail supporting Hitler. They should be hung for treason.

The FA have always put respectability above football success.
Just look at who they've dumped.
Venables, 'Arry, Hoddle,
For all Sam's football savvy, he was very very naive or greedy, knowing that the meeja have been shafting England managers since Graham Taylor. He also seemed to be overawed by some players reputation "I'm not telling Rooney what to do" just like Sven with "Sir". He may very well be ideally suited to No-Hopers as some managers were great at getting promotion but useless in the top division.

For all Sam's football savvy, he was very very naive or greedy, knowing that the meeja have been shafting England managers since Graham Taylor. My view on it is, firstly, he didn't break any rules. Secondly, what you want from your manager is someone who is world class at exploiting the opposition (while getting the best out of your own players). Yes, Big Sam was greedy, but you have to be greedy to be successful, your brain has to be geared towards exploiting opportunities. In fact if this sting was a test of his character, he passed it with flying colours, because he exploited the situation with maximum effect, but without breaking any rules. In fact when one of the journalists suggested he break the rules he called him an 'idiot'. So the FA finally found someone who is good at his job, and they threw him under the bus at the first opportunity, they bottled it because they thought it wouldn't "look good". If you find an accountant or a lawyer who is good at finding loopholes but never breaks any laws, you don't fire them, you hold onto them, you've found a "keeper". In the words of Tammy Wynette "Stand by your Sam".

Big congrats to Big Sam, finishing the season in style. The question is, where can he finish next season?

Their hands were tied with Hoddle once his kooky beliefs were made public.

Rumour has it that with Luis Enrique leaving Barca, at the end of the season, Sam might get a call.

Rumour has it that with Luis Enrique leaving Barca, at the end of the season, Sam might get a call. And why shouldn't they call him? The fact is Barcelona got knocked out the CL because their defence wasn't good enough. Big Sam can fix that. They also need to get the best out of their attacking stars on the big nights. Big Sam can fix that. Wherever Big Sam has gone, when he is given time he does improve them. Who is to say he can't do the same at Barcelona? So it is about time one of the so called 'big boys' gave him a call. 10 months ago Big Sam was sacked for a crime he didn't commit, now he survives as a soldier of fortune, if you have a problem that no one else can help, and you can find him, maybe you should hire the Allardyce-team.

It had me puzzled too, I thought you might have been being cryptic or something and it had just gone over my head, if you don't know then we certainly don't know. I don't think you need to worry too much about Big Sam swanning off to Barcelona, he is 250/1 to take over, even David Moyes is only 100/1 which makes no sense. Roy Keane is 25/1 or something which makes even less sense!

Originally I took that to mean that you have previously expressed your opinion about Big Sam on here so there was no need to say it again on this thread. But I could be wrong. I'm like that sometimes with me own handwriting. Makes sense when I write it but is like a foreign language when I look at it later.
