I ask you to consider movies, comic books, tv shows, iconic heroes.
And to make it more fun you can¡t know how any of them fair until you vote.
Feel free to explain your decision.
Without further due... shots fired!!

MCU movies can't overwhelm my DC comics loyalty. Batman, Aquaman, JLA, those are my personal pillars of escapism. Marvel for me is just a hoarded mass of characters & angles to wrap around. I wish Wolverine had been treated on screen with less of a pedestal.

By far, the modern Marvel Comics movies are better, though I don't find them as good as many claim. (I found The Avengers a complete bore, for example.) Even so, the 1st Iron Man, the first two Spider Man movies, and parts of the first Captain America (directed by Joe Johnston, an always-interesting talent) are first-rate, at least as far as superhero flicks go. With all that said, like twothousandonemark , I find DC superior overall when I factor in everything that gomezaddams666 asked us to consider. My preferences in comic books lie in the Golden and Silver Age ones (I know very little about them post-1970, actually!), and DC is the clear winner here. Too, all of their heroes--Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, the underrated Captain Marvel--are close to my heart in a way that the Marvel heroes, with their brooding, gloomy ways (and, my God, who thinks that is necessary in purely escapist fiction!), are not. I'm not the greatest fan of comic books, but, as it is, give me DC over Marvel any day.

DC, at this point; and this is coming from someone who Made Mine Marvel all my life, but they've driven me away with constant reboots and events. And ending the Ultimate Universe, after running into the fucking ground.

I don't even know one from the other, nor do I care.

Marvel all the way, no doubt about it for me.
The X-Men comics alone make it better than DC imo. I never cared for Batman or Superman, don't know much of other DC comics to be honest.
It's even easier for the movies, DC has Batman, and that's about it for me. The current Marvel movie Universe trumps anything that DC has, for now anyway.

Poll is locked, but I would have said DC. Mainly for the comics and shows and in spite of the movies (though there are a few great ones).

I grew up a Marvel Zombie, though I always dabbled in DC, too (mostly Batman and the Flash). Marvel's characters are far more relatable and interesting.
I stopped reading modern comic books about 10 years ago, so can't comment on them, but my breakdown would be:
Comics = Marvel (Golden Age to early 2000s, I do like many DC books, but Marvel wins out by far)
Movies = Marvel (though I like a few DC films, I pretty much enjoy all the Marvel ones)
Animated Movies = DC (it's not even close)
TV Series = Tie (Netflix shows have helped Marvel gain ground here, and I still need to see Legion and the Inhumans)
Animated TV = DC (but Marvel has had some decent shows, too)

Thanks to Superman, Batman and now Wonder Woman, it has to be DC. Superman, thanks to Christopher Reeve, who was perfect in the role. Batman has never had THE definitive actor yet but still several quality films. Wonder Woman seemingly came out of nowhere to become one of my all time favorite superhero films. But I do like Marvel a lot, too.

I like both but I have to go with DC 'cause they have a better line up of female superheroes and I love the Supergirl/Linda Danvers series by Peter David and the Post Oracle/Batgirl series by Gail Simone along with the Black Canary, the Huntress, the Spoiler, Lady Blackhawk, Strix, Zatanna, Raven, Power Girl, Orphan, Supergirl/ Kara Zor-El, Batwoman, Starfire, Hawkfire/ Flamebird, Saturn Girl, Black Orchid etc. I prefer Image Comics/Top Cow and Dynamite Entertainment over both DC and Marvel though.
