The Great Wall (2016) dir: Yimou Zhang In ancient China, a group of European mercenaries encounters a secret army that maintains and defends the Great Wall of China against a horde of monstrous creatures.Sounds like a waste of major talents to me (Yimou Zhang, Willem Dafoe, et al.)

There is a Malayalam film called mathilukal (walls). Its about a male and female prisoner who fall in love only by talking across a wall that separates their prisons. They never see each other. On the day they are supposed to meet each other at the prison hospital, the male prisoner is set free after he receives a pardon. The film is set during the British rule of India.
