A couple months back, Actor Kevin Spacey, who has been accused by Dozens of Men of Sexual Assault, was charged with the alleged 2016 Groping of an 18 Year Old Male at a restaurant in Nantucket, Massachusetts. He has pleaded Not Guilty and is awaiting his next court hearing. He faces a maximum of 5 years in prison if convicted.
What do you folks think are the chances of him being convicted?

What do you folks think are the chances of him being convicted? Given that Cosby HAS been CONVICTED...I'd say (type, actually) that it's BETTER than it would've been years ago, bnsat.

If Spacey groped this young man for about 3 minutes and the dude let it happen for that long, I'd say it was hardly non-consensual. The phone needs to turn up and the recent civil suit that got filed apparently got dropped for trauma and I'd say more than anything, the rest is all just smoke and mirrors because of all the agendas and bulls<>t involved.
Spacey will more than likely be home free on this one and rightly so. He now just needs to learn to keep his hands to himself and be more discreet about his sexual exploits.

How can it be so absolute in terms of the odds\evens here? Common sense will have to rule the day and making a conviction out of something that is bogus is not going to fare well or look that good for the justice\legal profession. Appeals are bound to happen as well if it doesn't come out faring well for Spacey.

What's the point of being rich and famous if you can't grope whoever you want to!?
It's political correctness gone mad!

Well if it's one of those things it's their word against his, I would tend to be more of the mindset Spacey would ultimately end up being let go. because I am not a fan of witness type of stuff as much as physical evidence etc as things tend to be a bit their word against his which someone buying into that stuff can easily get a innocent person convicted and I am of the mindset I would rather let a guilty person go than put a innocent person behind bars.
so unless they got some pretty damning evidence against Spacey, he should ultimately be let go. plus, on top of that it's a guy accusing Spacey... it's like screw the court, if he tried something just beat his ass or smack his hand off aggressively as he should catch the drift real quick like.
or look at it this way... given the OP's wording, even assuming what was claimed happened... does it sound right to you to get 5 years (or anywhere even close) in jail for 'groping' someone? ; I say hell no. that sounds like a probation type of thing.
p.s. we know many lie or greatly exaggerate things. but someone who claims they were abused and it was some minor thing and then tries to destroy a persons life over it, are a bunch of screw ups as you cannot potentially put a person in jail for years over some petty stuff and groping sounds like some petty stuff to me and on top of that it's a male accuser which people in general are not going to be as sympathetic to a male as they would a female since males can generally defend themselves against that stuff easier etc.

I'm not surprised at this. Never have been a huge fan of Spacey's, and he likely is the prick many attest to his being but much of this whole thing reeked of setup from the start. All the same, his career has probably been damaged sufficiently that he's not apt to be in line for any more A-list roles any time soon.

Why it was thought it should have been prosecuted in the first place, and this is embarrassing for the police because they were the ones with the "damning" evidence, just goes to show all the establishment agendas on show as well. Lawyers got fat off Spacey so they won't care, the police claim to to work and care for the best interests of the community, and the judge would still feel morally and intellectually superior to all and everyone. It was a witchhunt, based on semi-bogus claims and a "victimless" crime, ergo, no real crime was commited.
Spacey likely did grope this young man, and if he filmed it and let it go on for 3 minutes for amusement to show others, he was wasn't distressed and in command of his own decisions. I know I wouldn't let anyone do that to me for 3 seconds if I was uncomfortable with it, even if I was 18 and drunk. This dude had his mother up in arms because of her own standing and she likely wanted to be the one to bring Spacey down.
