I just typed "Brie Larson news", and I got her Twitter, a couple articles about the new movie, something about one of her older movies (I think one she did as a teen?), and then something about a future movie on her schedule getting pushed back due to her having to take some time for reshoots on CAPTAIN MARVEL. *Shrug* From what reading I've done on the above comments, it sounds like she's just too political for most and grates due to how she presents rather than what she presents. I think at this point, I've gotten so accustomed to people spouting their ideology without having enough polish to it to make it sound good, that it doesn't make a dent anymore. Heck, one of my closest friends is a guy who has a lot of good beliefs, but he has a very bad habit of sounding super arrogant and very much a Know It All when he tries to explain it. Yeah seems to be mostly this, some people just have that way about them, some can insult your family, mock your hair and threaten to physically assault you and you come away from it thinking my god what a charming person, others can compliment your fashion sense and leave you feeling like 10 lbs of shit in a 5lb sack and that they may have murdered someone.
She aint no Gal Gadot that's for sure, that woman has ALL the charm.
It has very little to do with her being a charmless harpy. A lot of people are sick of SJW BS being foisted upon their entertainment. And how charming would a woman need to be for people to forgive her for likening a man asking for her phone number to a form of sexual harrassment? She is a narcissistic Fruit-Loop who would benefit from many months of therapy.

I forgot she came out with something like that though, but when you think Gal was making comments like thank god for Wonder Woman as now there is a role model a strong female figure for girls to look up to she didn't have when she was a child, she's like a few years older than me, but not many and I grew up with Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor & Buffy, so total bs from Gal, no one cares, Brie says able bodied white men are the most prominent segment of society seen in Hollywood, probably true but how she says it makes people want to scream fuck you at her...Gal could get away with most of what Brie comes out with is all I am saying.
Edit: seeing how Brie is an academy award winning actress you would think she could act like she had some charm wouldn't you?

Gal Gadot really does have all the class, and charm. Yeah, know what you mean. I'm related to one of those people who can insult you and everything you like/believe in, and yet most people come away thinking he's a charming bastard who they can't wait to meet again for drinks or something. I kind of prefer the crass, unpolished folks who can't say anything right. But that may be bias of spending most of my life around insincere, a-hole charmers. *shrug* I'm not digging Brie Larson, I could have named 10 actresses who'd have a great Carol Danvers, but at the end of the day, she was the one who got picked so we just gotta see how she does and live with Disney's choice.

They will regret alright if the movie flops and under performs. This will be the first MCU movie I will NOT watch or pay to see.

Nothing Gal Gadot did or said was objectional. Brie Larson gets this journalist to interview her on the press tour and tells her she is selected because she is a female, black cripple FFS (not in those exact words, of course). What happened to - Nice to meet you, I love your work? Do you seriously think it's a good idea to highlight the fact that she only gave her the gig because of her color, gender and disability? If she gave 2 shits about that woman and what she has been through then she would have just done the interview and not used it as a platform to promote her own SJW dreck. And then there this obnoxious crowd funding BS. I didn't see Gal doing any of that? You really can't compare Gal Gadot's comments on her promotional tour with Brie Larson's SJW BS.

Fair, and I agree I mean come on Brie bullshit a little, say I am a fan of your work and I don't feel you get enough exposure so I decided I wanted to be interviewed by you for this, then when they respond gratefully and respectfully then you hit the not enough diversity at the junkets thing, don't make it such a obvious ploy to pump herself up as such an advocate for whatever.
Also funny because one of the things I would think people should find offensive is when they are simply used to fill a quota, I kind of hope they fuck with Brie on it and so she gets nothing but like Mexican Jewish transvestite's with down syndrome or you know a pansexual Japanese muslim women with Tourette's, be like you want diversity well here you fucking go...except that would be unfair to those people and they deserve more respect, Brie does not however so we are in a bit of a pickle.

This is a side issue but it really bugs me. This is nothing about Gal per se, but every time a Black person or a woman gets a starring role, the people involved in the project and many in the media act like it's the first time it's ever happened! As if they are breaking some glass ceiling that was stopping everyone else. Then I always think of all the other great Black and female lead characters of the past and ask "don't they count?"

Which kind of funnily enough was sort of half the point Cameron was making back then, but he like Brie let ego and lack of charm fuck up the point and everyone began shouting at him...see people it's not sexism it's arseholeism they stop acting like shitters we stop calling them such, as the meerkat would say...

I think people really need to wait until they actually seen the movie before they judge it.

I think people really need to wait until they actually seen the movie before they judge it. I wasn't thinking about how bad Brie Larson is at acting when I created the thread. I was thinking about how she was completely fucking up the publicity. But of course, Emily Blunt is also a far superior actress as well as an infinitely more likeable human being.
