All I can say is Supergirl apparently can't even tie her own shoes without help. She's not even stronger than a freaking space snake and has to get help from the new superhero who just hits the snake with a pipe?
I cannot believe how weak they have made this character even after brow-beating the audience with feminist talking points over and over.

LOL, this is the problem with CW superhero shows, for some reason they all need support. At one stage, Ollie had 4 helpers. Felicity, wild dog, Curtis and that girl that betrayed him to Adrian. Actually maybe 5 with Ragman, cant remember the line up right now

Six you forgot to include Diggle, maybe 7 if you count Thea's part timing it for the Invasion storyline.
Yeah the stupid thing it can make sense IF you create a need for each one of them, theres no need for Curtis & Felicity as one serves more functions on the team than the other blonder one does, on Flash atleast they have different abilities, Frost can freeze shit, Ralph is stretch, Cisco Vibes and Barry runs real fast, on Arror they all punch kick shit with little variety, on LOT the team is again varied so they can all serve different functions, Supergirl has the problem of an OP lead which is why they shouldn't have them team saving her but doing the other work she cannot do, she's Supergirl do what Superman used to do...be the fucking tank whilst others save people, or if someone else is going to take out the bad guy have a reason like the snake thing is too fast and durable for a head on attack to work, but a surprise attack from behind might work if you hit the sweet spot, hence Dreamer she doesn't simply fend off the snake with a pipe she knows through her powers those sweet spots and nails it in nerve clusters or whatever which is why her with a pipe can back it off.
Literally 30 seconds of thought to justify why Supergirl got saved by the newbie with a pipe...why cant the writers figure this shit out?..or did they and I wasn't paying attention too much, it's Supergirl afterall if the scenes don't include J'ohn I may not be fully engaged, conversely if the feature James 50% I don't even watch.

My mistake haha, even worse.
Yeah Arrow is even more retarded than the rest of the bunch (I mean we are talking about the guys who came up with penicillin tea and the fact that Ollie's computer skills have recently returned [Short-lived] after mysteriously disappearing). Further, they eventually had to get rid of Ragman, as incredibly cool as the character was, he was too powerful. Funny that a great character turns out to be Jewish but I wonder why they couldnt do the same for Felicity, oh thats right, that requires some actual skill or long-term planning.

Funny that a great character turns out to be Jewish but I wonder why they couldnt do the same for Felicity, oh thats right, that requires some actual skill or long-term planning. Because being Jewish was an actual important aspect of his character, where as Felicity being Jewish is just so she can be that annoying shithead who buts in with a "but I'm jewish so..." moment such as correcting or insisting on not something being Christmas but a holiday party, because I mean the one time her being jewish could have mattered it didn't because Ragman was the one who figured the alien shit out.
Also odd how the one good and interesting character from the recruits turned out to be the one they got rid off, like wait this guy is smart, stable, reasonable, likeable and capable...wheres the drama in this character get rid of him.
Let us not forget the brilliance of that team who came up with the great idea of nukes are about to end the world in mere minutes let's have Felicity waste this time in trying to talk her douchebag ex into turning over a new leaf...only for him to be killed midway by Dahrk anyway and Felicity then pushes his dead body off the chair and finishes the job, which he acts like he already finished before being killed...this way you make it utterly fucking pointless and Malcolm should have just shot him in the heart and be done with it, which would have been less painful than having a bullet or whatever kill you by ripping through your spine and other major organs in a intentionally painful manner...now that was fucking stupid.

The biggest problem with the 'Supergirl' TV Show for me has always been that they changed the character too much compared to what Kara and Linda were like in the comic books and made her more like a female version of Clark Kent instead of being her own character with a completely different personality. I have said it before on here and some might disagree with me but Kara was always meant to be more Kryptonian than Clark going back to the early 'Supergirl' comic books and she struggled to fit in with humans and was less trusting of them 'cause she didn't know them and understand what our world was like. When you have Kara making'Star Wars' and other pop culture references in the show you have completely lost the basics of what the original was about 'cause Kara would have no idea what 'Star Wars' or any other big movie or TV show was. Her lack of pop culture awareness was something that was heavily played out when she took on the secret identity of Linda Lee Danvers and she would always tell people where she came from they didn't have TV or watch movies and they would assume she was talking about some small country town that didn't have electricity and had much news about the outside world.
The silly thing about making Kara so reliant on the help of other characters in this show is Kara spends a great deal of time by herself and fights the majority of villains by herself without needing anybody's help. When last year's villain (Reign) came to earth after meeting her up in space when she was looking for the remains of Kandor Kara beats Reign by herself and then Reign returns with the other World Killers too and Kara beats the whole lot of them kicking their asses, mocking them and calling them names while she is doing it and when you look at just how much they have de-powered her in this show it is literally like they have halved her power which doesn't look too good for their version of Superman since they kept one thing from the comic books and that was Kara being more powerful than Clark but going on how useless they have made Kara Superman must constantly need Lois and Perry White helping him all the time too. I can understand to an extent why they wanted to de-power her but much like one of the main complaints about Superman I have never seen her being too powerful especially when she has at least a hundred villains that can still hurt her and kill her just like Superman has but the movies chose to leave out all of the powerful villains that were a threat to him to use Lex Luthor over and over again.
I could spend hours writing about all the problems with 'Supergirl' as a TV show and how it significantly differs from the comic books but instead I will just say one main thing and that is Supergirl isn't Supergirl. The writers never understood the character from day one and just made her a female version of Superman instead of Supergirl. With the 'Supergirl' movie coming up they have a chance to change that big time and while I sadly don't think they will go with a Linda Danvers adaption which they should 'cause it would be unexpected and a change in different from the movies they have made so far going for a Horror Superhero movie they need to make Kara Kara and have the movie start with her waking up on earth being completely new to everything. Get rid of the side characters and the secret identity. She should be Supergirl all the time and sleep in the sky. Give her back her edgy and aggressive attitude along her anger over her home planet being destroyed that she takes out on villains. Then we will have something that actually resembles the comic books.

They wanted to make a Superman show, but had to make a Supergirl one. It shows in everything they have done with this show. And even if they were allowed to do a Superman show it would still suck.
The issues with the show as a whole isn't anything Deb said imo, it's a valid reason Deb dislikes it because she's a true Supergirl superfan, the fact they basically did superman in a skirt which is what so many people ignorantly think is all Supergirl is really not a good way to butter up to the hardcore fans.
Deb's reasons are a valid point as to why this is a bad Supergirl show for comic Supergirl fans, but the shows also a bad show for any form of Supergirl fan, or Superman fan for that matter, they do such a poor jobs at keeping a stable idea of how powerful Kara is, in one episode she can lift a million ton spaceship single handed, in another she cant break free from fucking quicksand, also the actual storytelling sucks a monkeys banana flavoured arsehole, it's just not a good show in general.
Also can the characters be more fucking pathetic sometimes, now Kara I like for the most part but sometimes she's annoying, sometimes she's outright fucking pathetic, like S1 when Clark left her fighting a squadron of Kryptonian criminals and soldiers all because Kara didn't like him having to rescue her, like really you fucks will risk the safety of the world for her fucking pride? FUCK YOU!!
Hopefully if we get a Supergirl movie whether it's full on comic accurate or less so, like if they took a page out of the S:TAS & JLU and had a Kara like that in a movie I would be cool with it, because she was her own person, or even Supergirl from some of the animated films, give her an edge, just don't make her as psychotic as Deb has inadvertently described her as in the past, but I doubt they will...then again maybe they will it could be a film in an offshoot world similar to them doing The Trench and Joker and shit, which if they do that cool, I would kind of like to see a elseworlds/what if movie, like what if Kara doesn't get knocked off course/stuck in stasis and actually arrive and awakens on Earth at the same time as Kal-El, what happens when she does find and protect her baby cousin, and she becomes that worlds first superhero? Also does having to protect/raise Kal-El alter her personality, does having a mission and family to focus on mellow her out or make her more extreme?

Yeah, you're right. This show fails on so many levels. But as a comics adaption is it's greatest failing because the character has little to no resemblance to the character in the comics, which just alienates fans of the comics.
